New China Rider from NE Ohio!

Hello all! Just making myself known the the forum. I cant wait to be apart of this community of knowledge. Since there is only a small following of Chinese powered products. I recently (yesterday) received my first Chinabike. Apollo DB-26 Deluxe and I absolutely love it! Name: 20190918_191913.jpg

One quick question though...I am getting a pretty annoying chain slap even after I tightened up the chain to proper "specs" any insight on this?

Its been great tiring out my overactive pup too! Name: 20190919_134222.jpg

Best to just buy a new chain right away. these chains stretch a lot, and quickly. As for why it would be doing it within a day of owning it I'm not quite sure.

Welcome!

My DB-36 has been "slappin' da chain" since birth. I have found there is a sweet spot where it won't make much noise but it's a 530 chain which is usually reserved for 1000cc+ machines...it's massive...it's going to slap. They must have gotten a load of 530's cheap or something, who knows. Not sure there is a whole lot you can do. Manufacturer spec says 1.5" of slack, iirc.

I have found the culprit for the chain slap! No matter what the tension was I would always hear it... So I peaked underneath the chain and found a pan head bolt that retained part of a rubber chain guard. The bolt didn't really seem to hold anything down and seem as if it inst necessary. the bolt head stuck out about an 1/4 of an inch past the rubber. I removed it annnd...no more chain slap!

Glad you found it! With all the slappin going on, when the get together at onelegged dude happens, there will be slappin booths. Since you are experienced, you may want to participate...LOL

Give us a writeup on your new bike, pro's con's, etc. Again, congrats!
