Got the new jet in the carb and the pin. But I put it back together wrong. Thought Iwas would try starting it without the battery and I'll be damned if it didn't start on the second kick. But dang the idle was high. Fixed what I did wrong with the carb, changed out the shipping oil, put the battery in this morning and put 20 miles on the odometer.
Mirrors wouldn't hold position, but it sure was fun. Put my right hand to sleep though.

Funny you mention the mirrors.

As a newbie rider and with this being my first bike... I just assume this is normal for MC riders.

I find myself adjusting my stock TBR7 mirrors every 5 mins.

Dead serious...every 5 mins they vibrate out of whack.

Please tell me this is not the norm for the MC hobbiest?

I had half of the mirror problem on my TBR. One was good and one needed constant adjustment. There is a screw that can be tightened where the mirror itself is mounted to the stalk. i tightened mine and it was a little better but eventually i bought a set of mirrors that look great, stay in adjustment and are a little wider than stock so that i can see much better past my shoulders.

I'm sorry i don't have the link to the mirrors but will see what i can find.

My Hawk mirrors stay were they're put, but not the TBR7. Even with tightening the screw Jay is constantly having to adjust them.

I did, helps, but not solved.
Got about 75 miles on it now. Seems to have a stutter or little miss when I am holding a constant speed. Put the plug in that came with the kit. Watched a few videos on carbs. Wondering if I have the clip on the needle in the wrong spot or the 105 jet isn't right. Little over 600 ft elevationof here, high 70s low 80s 60% humidity

I have the same kit, same main jet 105 and I put the clip 1 slot down from center.

My fuel \ air is 2 turns out from bottom

I also adjusted my idle screw with a cheap lawnmower tach I bought from EBAY per someones recommendation on the board.

I keep her around 1600 RPMs... but I'm a newbie.

Those details work for me here in NY.. sure we have different elevations

Seen oneof of those eBay tachs, May end up with one.
So I took the carb back off and took the plug out of the air screw and switched the screws itself with one that was in the kit and long enough and knurled so maybe my fat fingers can get to it. Also took the 105 jet out and put in a 110. Took it for a nice ride and the stutter, stumble is gone. Seems to have a little better throttle now.
103 miles on it now.
Next will be the front sprocket.

B-Dog... forgot to mention the front 17 tooth sprocket.

Again as I primarily do street riding, the 17 tooth was a life changer for me.

Sure I don't leave the line like a beast any more after ditching the 15 tooth... BUT 2nd and 3rd gear are waaaaayyyy taller now.

Cool if streets and cruising are your thing.

I imagine some kind folk on here would hate it.

Cut a piece of fuel line and slip over the end of the idle mixture screw to make an extension.
Makes adjusting the idle mixture much easier. Epoxy it on there if you want it to stay on it.

Took it up to my camp in michigan, outside of Baldwin, lots of sand. Man it was squirrelly. Makes me wonder if using a tire gooving tool I have from my dirt track racing days to make the stock tires more aggressive.
