At this point I have to assume that they have abandon the bike. I will sell it in a month if they do not pick it up.

That's what I would assume. However, I am not a liar. Er, Lawyer.
I almost had an issue with registration, as there is no FMVSS sticker on the motorcycle. However, the MSO states that it conforms, so the DMV inspector allowed it. He looked at the bike, and began looking all over for it. I knew it didn't have one, so I distracted him by saying, "Oh, here's the paperwork that you need to verify the VIN against." and he said that I got lucky. If the MSO didn't say that, I would not have been able to register it. However, Nevada is a fairly easy state. We have "dirt bike exemptions" that allow for the change of a dirt bike into a street legal motorycle. However, I would not press my luck in other states. I will be here for another couple years at least, so it is worth my $1200... now if only I could get another 10mph out if it so I'm not revved so high at 45mph and can still take hills. :P |
