Is this the counter balanced engine?
Still weighing my options. Came across ASPC’s new website and they list the “new” Bashan. It has inverted front forks. I was wondering if it also has the counter balanced engine. My Enforcer from 2017 did not. Here is a picture from their website.

Which bikes have the counter balanced engine? And, does it make a difference?

So what exactly are the specs of the BMS? Anything special about this one just a refresh?
I kind of stepped away for a little bit to focus more on college and now when I came back it seems like there are now hundreds of different models of the same thing. |

I prefer the non counterbalanced engine for a couple reasons. Yes they vibrate a bit more but it's not excessive, and to me it feels more natural. They are also true to the original CG design and thus do not have a chain driven oil pump or added gears, bearings, balance shaft. Otherwise there isn't a big difference.

this just reinforces my statement on the other post. you need a local dealer and a main stream bike be it new or used. china bikes are not going to be a good fit for you.

So...I shouldn’t consider a Hawk because I didn’t know if that was a counter balanced engine? Thanks for your input

I prefer the single speed motorcycles and that way there are fewer
gears and bearings that could break and plus those extra gears just add extra weight... you know like those funny balance shafts that smooth out the engine vibes and have about one thousandth of the forces applied to them compared to big end or small end of a piston rod etc... I actually prefer those solid tires that never go flat as well :< Regarding reduction in vibration..... Notably there with be a distinct increase in longevity that will never be noticed simply because things dont break as often in all things electrical. Wires and connections are subject to vibration fatigue over time in ways that are not obvious until they fail. This was discovered in aviation about 85 years ago and is to this day a primary focus area for all Airframe and Powerplant licensed mechanics. For some reason they decided an intermittent electrical connection was not justification for an airplane crash. |
