My Amazon Mikuni also came with a 40 pilot jet, I did a test run with it and it smoked on start up and revs, and smelled terrible. Put in the 27.5 and it cleared up all that BS. Yet to actually ride my hawk though and see how it performs.

Did you get your jets from "jets r us"? I want to make sure I would be getting ones that fit these carbs.

I have the Amazon Mikuni. Had bought it for a back up for my Magician, but the stock carb I have modified is working so good I did not install the Mikuni.

Mine also came with the 40 in the carb (Amazon Mikuni) and a unmarked slow jet in the rebuild kit.

The 40 is not a true 40 mikuni sized more like a 25. I have a gen 27.5 Mikuini slow jet and compared it with the fake 40 with my micro drill set and the gen 27.5 is a little larger than the fake 40. The unmarked slow jet in the Amazon v26 I think might be about a 20

I think the 40 slow jet the carb comes with should work for most, at least what I have.

Amazon Mikuni here too. Also came with a 40 slow jet installed, and an unmarked smaller one. Put the smaller one in with a 115 main. Had to turn the mixture screw out quite a bit to get the idle stable, but it starts great (cold or hot) and hasn't stalled while sitting slow idling. 27.5 and 115 jets from Jets-r-Us are on the way, so I'll swap those in when I get them. Just got the bike a few days ago but haven't had time to ride it yet.

It will be a while before we can ride so I'm trying to make sure I get the jets that fit...apparently the amazon mikuni likes the real jets from jets r us then.... thanks for the info. I can't do much when its 10 degrees out when it comes to tuning a carb for warmer weather....
