Opinions Apollo Enduro
I was just looking for any opionions on the Apollo, I saw it for just over $1100, where the hawk is $1349, I'm not a cheapskate, just poor(that grand I have is burning a hole in my pocket) They look almost identical but a search said Apollo is liquid cooled? I wonder if any of that makes a difference, I'm in north central Florida. Just south of Ocala, elevation a whopping 345 feet.. I appreciate your time -Poe

Depends on which Apollo you are talking about, but if you mean the DB-36, then once upon a time they were offered with a liquid cooled engine in other parts of the world, but they are all air cooled in the U.S.

Those apollo bikes are just relabeled BSR, Bashan, or RPS bikes. https://www.motobuys.com/apollo-arg36-250-db.html The real Apollo 250 is "dirt" only here in the USA.

There are close to a dozen options for the China bikes around your price that will need less stuff done than the Apollo. Options to consider is USD forks, wheel size, street legal, chain, wheel set and bearings quality and so forth. Lots of examples from various dealers out there. Shop around

This one is very interesting if it had better tires, I especially like the black and red one. I noticed this same seller has a Hawk that comes with a skid plate. Neat.

The BMS 250 CRP seems to be a great alternative to the Hawk, although I do believe it has 19" Front, 17" rear wheels, so if a 21"/18" setup is what you are after then it isn't a good option. The Apollo DB-36 is actually a better off road chassis out of the box than most of the Hawk style bikes. The catch is that they don't come with any lighting, and only very forgiving/lax states would register one for road use. You can buy a wiring and switch kit like this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/COMPLETE-EL...5.c10#viTabs_0 Then simply add whatever lights you like (DOT Legal). Add a cheap horn into the mix, and if your state allows it do the inspection and registration. It's a lot of effort and extra cost though, so there is that downside, and it REALLY depends on what state you live in.

I love my Apollo, it's a streetlegal dirtbike.
It has USD forks, the rearshock is ok and for a Chinese bike, well build. However, I ditched the watercooled engine and installed an aircooled one. The reason of this is my serious offroad riding and I don't want to strand in the middle of nowhere with a pinched radiator due a crash which happens now and then when riding... I also ditched the chain, and replaced it with a decent 520 chain and some Honda CRF sprockets. What I really dislike is it's engine, both aircooled and watercooled as it's too underpowered IMO. My Apollo, how the Apollo is now with the aircooled engine My Apollo just right out of the box, with watercooled engine and sh^tty chain |

http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=22528 I had found this bike the same way I discovered the BMS CRP 250 enduro--the EPA certification listed several models that are certified DOT/EPA using the same engine.

Out of the box, your guys' bikes are probably one of the best bikes for the money taking quality, EPA/DOT certification, and the fact that BMS has 21/18 wheels (as compared to the Bashan Brozz or Bashan Storm).
