Thanks for the tip dscratch. While on my quest for the elusive seat cover this morning, I picked up the day bag. Looks like an almost perfect fit. And at a good price too.

From what I was told at a walmart on the way home yesterday, The seatmod seat cover has been discontinued :(

I hope the day bag works good for you, it's a pretty nice fit on my bike. Sorry to hear the seat cover didn't work out, I'll have to check my walmart for one of those seat covers before they stop carrying them.

The label on the bag says "Day Bag". It looks like a midget's backpack.

I bought my saddlebags from E-bay... they were around $45. I keep looking at the big plastic totes, but I think it would cover up the taillight on my Lifan.
Mostly I just use my backpack as a tailbag.

<BTW> Notice the color of my forks? They used to be gold until I was cleaning the bike one day and sprayed them with Greased Lighting.

I'll have to see if my walmart has any seat covers left. If so I will buy them up.

Hello everyone,

I just got done installing my new "hard bags";

Couple of 5.56mm ammo cans from the surplus store here in town, painted black and clearcoated. I took off the stock rear blinkers and replaced with some from Wal Mart. Got the soft sided with a hard plastic inside cooler from Wal Mart as well. I used 3 U-bolts per side and hooked right around the rack and through the can.

Total cost for project;

Cans - $10
New blinkers - $5
Hardware - $5
Cooler - $8
Paint & Bungee strap - $1

Getting to tinker - Priceless!!

Total time for install was about a hour, not counting the painting.

Wolf

They came with waterproof nylon bags, but I use drybags I bought for canoeing. I'm happy with them overall. They expand and get really, really huge. Something like 66 liters EACH... They'll hold way more than I'd want to carry. My biggest complaint is with the cheap plastic hooks on the bungies, but I replaces thise with toy carbiners and all is good now.

here's a link toi them, prices have gone up

Stay away from the textile jackets he sells... they are like wearing a garbage bag... that leaks. :evil:
