Insurance made an offer.. worth it?

Tere is a pic of my gy2 down the page. I think it held up well..... better than me . Well my left wrist is broke. She was drunk and very insured. I feellike I got hit bu a truck.

Update They will sell it back to me for 500. Is it worth it. Other wise i get 1200 for it?

Looks like she soaked some of that impact for you...better the bike wedged in there instead of you! 8O

Thanks for sharing the picture. I'm sure it's a healthy reminder for everyone.

I bet I know what happened.. That's a GY2.. He prolly had the stock sprocket and could not go over 40mph on the main road so cars where gettin pissed and ridin his ass to get him to get the hell off the road or drive at a normal speed (I know what its like) he went to slow down quick to turn and POOF! AL should be sued for the gearing issue, very unsafe, half jokin half serious.. Hope he did not get too hurt, wounder if he had a helmet on. Where is the story to what really happened????

well, looking on the bright side, you're OK, a little beat up, but OK.

The other driver was clearly at fault, and i'll say this now. get a lawyer. Make sure that you, your med bills and your family are taken care of.

Ok, that was the serious part.

Now the not so serious part. The frame, rear wheel and swingarm on that bike are probably shot. IF the frame is bent, the Insurance company will total it. And since its pretty much brand new and you have all the papers, they should be buying you a shiney new one.

Now another thing you can do if they total the bike, is buy it back from the insuance co. This should be pretty cheap and what they would do is take the buy back amount out of the settlement.

Example - they are going to settle on the bike for $1000, you can buy back the wreck for $50, they would give you the bike and a check for $950 (my grandmother did this when she had a minor accident in her car, ins said totaled because of the age of car. she bought the car back from the ins co for $46 and got it fixed)

You could then part out whats left of the bike or keep it for spares.

Anyway, talk to a lawyer and get well soon.
