i see these 2 different skid plates on 250 hawk rps site as 1 of 15 accessories show then an another skid plate for the hawk 250 ,back in the day on my 2004 dl 650 they called them a belly pan then ,was thinking they must work with the right hardware i would rather have plastic red or black that needs a bit of moding ,rather then pay for something i have to paint anyway for $129.00

again that the site that sell the tshirts too ,but know confirmed pictures of them on a hawk thifty not cheap i would figure by the time one has the tt250 one powder coated cost must got up,i wouls uce like black caliper paint if i went that way i think these have more style too for the bike THOGUTHS IDEAS Thank you an have a good day

$72.00 IF THEY DID NOT WORK WHY WOULD THEY BE ON THE SITE on choise besides home made.it dont get if for me only one choice .also foot pegs for the hawk i dont see

so no one wants one no one has one 250 rps hawk site shows them as skid plates for the hawk,guess mabey some needs to confirm ,but they are there 2 different ones to as hawk accessories

I just built my own. Way cheaper and stronger.

sorry dont wont home made not but thank you jerrryhawk for sure ,it would take me longer then its worth to buy one ,dont have a welder ,i want to make a plastic one work, no metal,all the new bikes have plastic ones there just there for rocks an mud so on looks,there is nothing going to stop the wrong wreck would take out the engine anyway,i would not want to be on a hawk when that happens

Most of us here are about function over form. I have seen high cost, big name, plastic skid plates crack from impacts that a steel or aluminum skid plate would bounce off of, and at worst maybe dent a little bit. That doesn't mean there aren't good strong skid plates, or that they didn't do their job, but a cracked piece of plastic will have little strength left, or offer almost no protection. A dented bit of metal can be hammered out.

As far as coating said skid plate, I would personally use a bedliner coating or a high urethane chassis paint. Much more durable.

If all you want is the dirt bike equivalent of what we call "mall crawlers" in the Jeep world, then by all means put this on your bike. I am sure it will look really good.

Me? I will take ugly and functional.

Because they want to sell you something. I can go to revzilla, bikebandit, (insert other big name retailer here) and pick out quite a few parts that are sold on said websites that are worthless cheap garbage.

I am not saying this skid plate isn't, but your mentality of "they wouldn't sell it if it didn't work" is not the best one to have.

if i have an impact with mine that smashes it ,i am probley headed toward the 3 wheeler trike ,,even on my 9000.00 vstrom was a plastic one ,,like said nothing in a bad crash will stop the skid plate from crunching the engine at the right speed or angle,so for me seems plastic worse case i dump it an it cracks ,cheaper to replace dont have to paint it ,should have more info from hawk 250 rps ,said he was going to get some better pictures of one on a hawk ,if i knew it fit i would have one on it ,or on order soon

note no off roading for me had my fun with it just beats me up anymore ,if i do will be like dirt road smooth one too ,we all have our funny thoughts ideas an whats works for us ,

one more thing i think if guys see that on my hawk 3 weeks from now if it works out they will want to know ,not everyones the same hear ,we all think a bit different ,is what makes the world go around,but yes ,there should be more then one choise of home made ,an thats what i am trying to find out

i did confirm there is a guy has that skidplate on his hawk now waiting for pictures ,hawk 250 rps said he wants one too ,so looks like they may work
