good day or night ,i am going to get some shinko or kenda less agrresive tires dual sport say ,now the hawk has the 21in X3 front an 18x4 rear ? does that meen how wide 3 & 4 inch ,? how wide can i go with a tire like i am looking at 3.5 21in in front an 5.10 18 in the rear ,does 5.10 stand for how wide the tire is ,i figure more rubber on the road is better ,but may just get the 4,60 18 rear & the 21x3 front. they sell kits on ebay ,from like 90.00 a set to $125.00 for the wider set if i am thinking right on tire sizeing thank you in advance

Tire sizes are limited by the rim width. An 18 x 5.10 is too big for the 2.15" rear rim that is on the bike. In Metric sizes, a 5.10x18 is roughly the same as a 130/80 - 18 or 130/90-18.

If you convert the stock 110/100-18 into a standard tire size, it would be 4.33" wide. A 4.6" width tire would be about as wide as you want to go, or a 120 width in metric. I ran a 120/80-18 on my last Hawk which is a little smaller in diameter, and a 120/90-18 is actually almost exactly the same diameter as the stock tire.

So your best bet is a 4.6x18 rear tire, which you have lots of choices. You could also go with a 4.10 x 18 rear tire, but it will be a little skinnier than the stock tire.

I have a set of Shinko 700's in 4.6x18 and 3.0x21 waiting to go on my bike. You can go with those, or the Shinko 244 is another great and popular option. Then there is the Kenda K270 which is a variation of the same tread type as the Shinko 244.

Either way, don't forget to factor in a good set of heavy duty tubes. Do NOT re-use the stock tubes, they are terrible in every way, It also wouldn;'t hurt to pick up some new rims trips too. I was not too impressed with the factory ones.
