Coolster 125cc ATV Carb Question - 22mm to 26mm
I currently have an aftermarket 22mm carb on the atv, and am looking into installing a 26mm Carb similar to what comes on the 125cc pit bikes. I was considering buying a spare intake manifold, and doing a gasket match to the manifold on the carb side so it will flow into the smaller diameter better. I'm hoping to improve performance, and like that I will be able to use the mikuni carb & jets. Assuming there is not clearance issues, any downside to this?
I am not looking to gain power, but more with improving idle, and heavy throttle performance. This is what I have now. https://www.amazon.com/Carburetor-Ta...z20+carburetor This is what I am considering https://www.amazon.com/MIKUNI-VM22-C...ds=vm22+mikuni This is a different design that looks to be the same as what is on the Tao Tao, and Apollo Units. I am considering this as an alternate to the 26mm. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Last edited by Douglass; 04-16-2018 at 01:28 PM. |

carb
I think the mikuni is the better carb,, but are you really have trouble with it now... they must be cheaper than AMAZON... thre was a post saying about the #40 idle jet helping with the idle speed... since on some NEW TAOTAO EPA carbs.. the needle can not be adjusted to idle good,,, if you have a spare carb you could switch or change it out,...... the carb you have ,,stock carb... Is it and EPA CARB... non removable screws??? I think the main thing .. do you want to spend money and the problem you want to solve??
