Goodbye chinariders, goodbye roketa
😞so after getting this 2006 ohc roketa up and running with a new vm26, rebiult the head stock bearings cup, secured and went thru the wiring, adding a running/brakelite, hipo halogen headlight, i had a old friend drop by. His boy Austin was given a 90 something honda 100. A week later, it got stolen. Fast forward a year, he still has no bike. So i gave him the roketa. Hes stoked. Ive learned alot fixing it up. Like, its hard to tune a bike from scratch, especially thumpers. Im used to multi cylider bikes were the fireing cylinder will drag the non firing side along until all is right.but i got it figured out.
Austin is near a age were he can learn to wrench on his new bik. In the meantime, i must say goodbye to u all. All the help has been highly appreciated and i hope all the info will be used elsewhere. Thanks to dan, and ariel hunter, and others that tossed in their 2cents

I totally get that. I would have bought the Tig too lol. Still, there is something oddly appealing about these little bikes that you just cant explain to people.

Here’s my pride and joy. A 1971 yamaha xs1-b 650cc. I bought this about 3 years ago from a friend whose dad bought 2. There were both going to be turned into a hill climber, but dodged the axe. The other one, was destroyed hill climbing back in the day. This one saw lite road duty until 1992, then was put in a garage under a house, it was in a barn when i got it. I got it running again with a Hall effect ignition, and a vr from a 1976 amc eagle. Vr-115. That replaced the still working mechanical vr, but felt this was a good upgrade. I paid $3k for this, another 1980. Xs650 that i have torned into a cafe/roadster, another xs650 chop project with a weld warped frameso that motor will be used for a gocart bantam style with a wheelbarrow body.
The bike u see here only had 3600 miles. All original. Bright work in excellent shape. On. S650.com, a forum im on with the same name, angus67. When i posted pictures of it there, so many wanted me to take pictures of various details. These bikes are very loved, and at the time, one in this condition would easily bring $5k+

Man, I had one just like that 30 years ago, but I needed the space. I gave it away for $100.00. It wasn't as clean, but it was complete.
