we americans whine about how high gas costs here. making a comparison of our income vs our fuel prices to the chinese income vs their fuel prices it seems we pay substantially less for our fuel. someone figure this out. the GDP there is about 5000 and ours is about 45000...we pay about 4.00 for a gallon of gas...there its about .80/litre. might be like comparing apples to oranges but it is worth of some consideration. I gonna figure this out.

BTW the countryside looks amazing. You must be on a great adventure to be immersed in another nations culture. I envy you man. Keep riding.

I believe in Canada gas is more expensive then in the US too. But you do have a good point about that too.

Anyways, I agree with the others, don't apologize about the mud, it should come stock

The CLI (cost of living index) is much lower here in China. Gas is pricey compared to other things but the low cost of other things balance the higher cost of the fuel out.

I should mention that things like motorcycles are a huge luxury item here for most people and a lot of people can't even imagine of getting a bike that costs about $500 USD.

I wish that bike were available over here. Gonna check out the ride report. I too agree...the mud adds character. the bike looks very sturdy.

edit: Just read the ride report. Great! love the scenery and the bike looks amazing. i am green with envy but also glad to get a glimpse into your world. i hope you do some more ride reports. puts a smile on the face.

I emailed Shineray about the bike being imported to the US and have received no response.

This bike has to be the best looking china bike out there.

Nice pics. Nice bike. Nice weather...I am ready to ride but the 2 feet of snow here is making that difficult.
Gas here is $1.25 litre.

If people were really intersted in getting the bike in the states I could takl to the factory about doing a group buy. IE. fill one container and import them yourselves. I don't know anything about bringing bikes into the states though.

One container would hold about 50 bikes. The bike and motor would need DOT and EPA certified up to current regulations if it isn't already. Be sure to ship plenty of parts too.

That said, cool bike. Nice big gas tank for plenty of long distance stuff. Will comment on your ADV thread.

I talked to the factory today. They said if you're interested in the bike you can order it though any Shineray Country office and the bike will be shipped to you.

I'm still waiting to get some more information about the details about how to do it.

I should know in a few days....

If you kept the price close to what the others are going for, you would sell them (50) in less than a month. And they might let you have the camo ones if they're going out of China. That would be nice. I was planning on a Komoto 250, but now I'm gonna wait to see about these Shinerays. If that thing had a 250 I'd send ya a check today!
