Hello from Sunny, FLA...
Hey everyone,
I just ordered a 2006 Lifan 200gy-5 the other day and it should be here by the end of the week. I want to thank all of you for sharing all the information on these china bikes, you guy's helped me make up my mind to get one. I am 36, Happily divorced with 3 children, twin 8 yr.old girls and a 2.5 yr.old girl, my girlfriend supports my addiction to anything with 2 wheels and a motor and is even thinking of getting one herself. I don't see why people would bash these bikes and their riders, this is a very affordable option for those who don't have $5000 to drop on a jap bike, i've always felt that it's not what you ride it's that you ride. That being said, thank's again and I hope to post some pics of the building process soon(got a big bottle of the blue loc-tite)... P.S. Bike's I have Owned: Suzuki JR50, Honda ATC125, Honda ATC200X, Honda XR200R, Yamaha Virago, Honda Shadow, Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster. I always liked the XR the best.. |

I guess they sell those 3 wheel goldwings now, so society must feel it's safe to ride an old ATC as well  ... heck, they were always safe as long as you knew what you were doing.

Sorry, I should have said, anything with wheels and a motor.
Frostbite, I had an 86 200X, full suspension, red, white and blue, that thing was a beast and alot of fun, can't believe they outlawed them.. I got some old polaroids of it i'll scan them and try to post. |

The ATC's with no suspension could be dangerous at higher speeds, on uneven terrain sometimes the back end would start to bounce around and you were just along for the ride at that point.. I do agree though, if you knew what you were doing and kept safety in mind, they were fine.

I plan on taking many pictures of the whole building process and have some mods already planned ie. paint, new tubes, battery box etc.
Glad to find people that enjoy there china bikes, the guys over on ThumperTalk don't seem to understand and are not willing to learn about these.. It really doesn't look too different from my old XR, engine looks the same. |
