shifting problem continued
okay I figured out what happened I got that Hawk 250 stuck in first gear after the chain jump the front sprocket turns out that I used a screwdriver and Hammer to spread the Shifter Peg by gently tapping it and misaligned the shifter shaft inside the transmission .So I pulled the cover on the right side of the motor observed the shifting ratchet system was intact but miss aligned. Is there some kind of set screw or keyway or something to hold the shifter shaft in place ?????? Cause there is no bearing or stop on the housing cover that I took off. That shaft seems to be floating unsecured inside the transmission and moves In-N-Out at will while shifting. does anybody anybody know how this thing is set and how to get to it????

Yes, the groove is for circlip #18. #17 is also a circlip and #14 are washers.
