These new footpeg extensions are just something I fabbed up from some 1" stock that I had laying around. The difference is night and day. If you've ever had your feet slide off the stock pegs then you know why I did this. Took about an hour and let me tell you it's the 2nd best mod I've done to this bike. DO IT

Does anyone actually sell a pre-fabricated foot peg that will serve the same purpose? I have a TT250 and assume the fitment would be the same.

What about something like these off of a Kawasaki KLX 250/650?

I'm sure those are ok but I wanted longer pegs than what I saw available anywhere else. I made mine 4 1/2" long and the added length is really nice. The best part is the mod was free! I love free

Year ago, when this site first started, the standard bike was the GY125, GY150, and GY200 (and we saw a few GY250 models come, then go, and come again and stay, up to currently). Anyway, most were seemingly made in the same factory and then slapped with 'brand' stickers which were usually the importer. Back then, a few members, from what I recall (we are talking about 10 years ago) successfully used KLR650 foot pegs on the GY bikes. It didn't get more popular because we were very cheap people, and did not want to spend the money it cost to order them, but from what I remember, they were a direct fit. I know members are less cheap nowadays (as evidenced by what some are willing to put in their bikes), but it would make sense to ask members who have both the KLR and one of these enduros to see if my memory is correct...

The difference in the pegs that fit a Hawk and those in the pic provided by moparrob is the rounded edges between the mounting bolt and bike. The Hawk pegs are 90 degrees right angles at the bottom. That is the "stop" so to speak that keeps the peg level. That particular shape is what was difficult for me to find in my search for better pegs. So I made my own

Aha! That rounded corner can mean a lot of extra work to get them to fit. I have a Mig welder but would still prefer to buy something 'bolt on'. I'll keep looking.

I just stumbled across these which might be a good solution since I know the pegs will fit AND will be wider and longer.

But they are also $35.00

Nice job. Looks like one of my next mods too as soon I can find time to do it. Seems like I have something going on every weekend. 70% chance of rain this weekend so maybe i'll just go in my shed and work on some of these mods.

Thanks Jerry. I instantly fell in love with this Hawk the day I un-crated it but I love it even more each time I do something that makes it uniquely my own

I know I've said this before. You have to think of the Chinese bikes and atv's as kits that you assemble and customize to you liking. It's like any other hobby be it RC planes and cars, race cars, ect.... That's what makes these bikes so much fun and you won't break the bank doing it. I can tell you from experience that the RC planes and cars, race cars have cost me way more than my Hawk. $$$$$$$

Time for a little update. Got my new 42 tooth rear sprocket put on today and am very pleased with the results. Gained about 15 mph on the top end and didn't hurt my low end grunt near as much as I thought. Played with it on some pretty steep trails and still has plenty of power to climb and wheelie. Glad I didn't go with the 44

That is what I'm running too,I tried many combinations 17-39,17-43,17-45,17- 50and I found that 17-42 is about right for my weight(165) and use.

I forgot to mention this cool handlebar mount tool bag I put on also. Plenty of room for my tools and sun glasses and paperwork. Fits perfect. Got it off of Amazon. You can find it by searching for GIANT LOOP ZHB-BLACK ZIGZAG

I was looking to get a tank bag but I think that would be better. Thanks
