5 speeds in a 6 speed motor.
Well I've done it, I now have a 5 speed gearbox where the 6 speed used to live. There was a couple of little surprises, but nothing that couldn't be worked around. I've lost the neutral light, the 2 methods of switching it are very different and non-swappable. The only part I'm not 100% happy with is the primary drive, as the 125cc 5 speed primary drive is 25% (4:1) lower I've had to bodge the 125 basket and 6 speed primary gear together. It has the potential to vibrate, if it does I'll have to peresevere and find a 200cc primary drive which is only 10% lower (3.33:1). The 223cc motor produces peak HP and torque about 1250 rpm lower than the 200cc motor hence the high primary drive (2.95:1).
