Here is another site that has the Gy-6 (they also have the gy2 and gy5). If you can read the language it will make more sense.

Gloomhound, the one I posted you can buy now... If you get it from Canada...

We will also have that 250 gy7 here around summer time I believe, from what they've told me (again, in Canada).

Now a 250 water cooled would be nice. I'd guess the pricetag would be jumping quite a bit as well.

I know the power difference from a 2-stroke air cooled vs water cooled is huge. I wonder how much difference there is in the air vs water 4-strokes.

I wonder what is taking the GY-6 so long to reach the US? The engine is already EPA certified! Shawn??

Yeah, just guessing they don't want it there yet? Is the 250 gy 7 water cooled, I never looked into it that much?

I got my bike today, I am assembling it myself though. It is from Coast to Coast Motorsports and I think I got a nice deal.. Anyways it was easy getting it out of the crate, I think really the only thing that would be complicated is connecting all the little wires, and actually the kill switch wires don't match color wise on both sides of the plug.... I have to go back though, they gave me 4 rear signals I think, I believe the front have different mounts, they are different then the gy5. They also forgot to get me a horn, and I need some bolts to put the headlight fairing on with. The only other thing is theyre going to find me a gy5 rack I can mount on here...

I think I may get it finished tomorrow if I can get the parts, but I may have to work, when I get it done I will start a new thread and include some pictures... The guage cluster is completely different, no alarm on this one, though you guys in the states didn't have it on the 5 as far as I can tell... I may take the one off my 5 and put it on the 6, but I'm not sure, I never really used it anyways.

The hubs on the wheels are quite different, atleast from my gy5, and I have CST tires now that are more aggressive looking then the ones that I had on my 5, though I think most of the ones in the US had the CST tires already... I'm not sure what brand was on my 5, but it wasn't cst...

On the 6, the battery is mounted under the rear left side cover in a metal tray, rather then on top of the motor. It also looks like it has an air shock, and a different air intake setup. The muffler looks quite a lot nicer too in my opinion. Pictures to come...

Shineray will have 400 coming out soon

Have a gander

China has a lot of larger displacement bikes that will be coming into the market over the next 2 years.

This bike is supposed to enter production soon

I wonder how close the valve cover on the gy6 is to the frame.

From what Shawn told me, the GY-6 isn't on the EPA Certification papers, so it can't be imported. It isn't just the engine... it's the model bike that they are going also.

I wonder why the EPA is so concerned with vehicles vs. the engine? I can understand if it was a DOT/EPA joint effort and certificate, but an engine stays the same, one would think, no matter the vehicle, provided the vehicle is similar, such as a GY-5 and a GY-6. (I could see the point between the same engine in a motorcycle, ATV, and side by side utility vehicle because the emissions would change depending on weight load, but, again, a GY-5 vs. a GY-6?)

The same engine does not necessarily mean same exhaust, carburetor, EGR, etc....
