Hawk with Laminar LIP H2104C
Wolftrax posted pics of his Hawk with the Laminar LIP H2104C (for the Honda CB500X) on it and it was exactly what I wanted so I decided to purchase and install one.
http://www.laminarlip.com/cb500x.php It couldn't be more perfect. Because of the way it is curved, it does the job of much taller windscreens. Wind is deflected away from my chest, and, from my neck up, it is no different than without the windscreen. I may even be getting a few more MPH with the Laminar LIP. You can see why such a short windscreen is as effective as taller ones in this photo: |

Nice looking bike. I'll second PC's comments. The lip does a great job of deflecting wind and rain without inducing any turbulence.

Seat?
The seat looks a lot like the Wal*Mart ATV seat pad I used on my KLR650.

picked one up, love the look and it works great, But it seems like its too much mass for the plastic headlight hood its attached to.
i plan to fabricate some reinforcement from behind, has anyone else done something similiar to beef up the mounting point. i actually attached it about a half inch lower than the one pictured in this thread, i made the bottom edge line up with the guages, in theory that should make it more stabil. im worried about any major trail riding causing it to break the plastic its attached to, it slaps around pretty good. and im also afraid to try and take it off as it has more strength inthe velcro than the plastic its attached to. maybey back it up with some composite, or something simple. really looks great tho. |
