Question on Hawk and Shinko 705's
I wanted to get the Shinko 705's for my hawk. Can anyone tell me if the 120/80-18 will fit the stock rear rim of the hawk? Also would I be getting the 90/90-21 Shinko 705 for my front?
Thanks! Hawk 2015 |

I don't believe the rear 705 is offered in the hawk size. I believe some have used it anyways and it worked for them. I went with the 244 but I wanted a 50/50 tire.

It comes in a 4.10P-18TT for the rear which would be the proper width but I don't know the side wall height.

Yes the 120/80-18 and the 90/90-21 will fit the Hawk.I put a little over 400 miles on them so far with very good results on the road.

I should add, I had 705s on my BMW F650 Funduro and absolutely hated them on the trail. You might as well purchase 100% street tires. I wouldn't use anything less aggressive than the 700 if you plan on spending even a moment on the trail and nothing less aggressive than the 244 if any mud.

I was debating the 705 vs the 244. I ended up going with the 244 but I saw some youtube videos of the 705 riding some decent trails. As long as they were dry it seemed to be ok. Looked like it was slicks in mud though. They also seemed to be questionable on the rear size. I found some threads saying they worked while others saying they were not the correct size.

as long as the trail is dry, 100% street tires will be ok. With the 705's, my F650 would come out from under me even when I babied it on green grass. You can find 100% street tires that grip green grass better than a 705. I think the tread pattern is worse than 100% street at everything but mud...... and it is still useless in mud.
