I think this announcement indicates the container vessel has left the dock at Shanghai, and is heading for the open seas.

Here is a time lapse video of vital Shanghai.

I'm torn, not sure I want to change or not.

I tend to gravitate toward dark bikes, but there is something to be said about white and visibility.

Agree. The choice of words in the announcement is a little squishy on the dates. Guess that's why the call it an "estimated" time of arrival.
At least it didn't say the container fell overboard and is lost at sea...

I'm with you on the white and not just because I have a bunch of white stuff, pre-purchased. Living in the dirt, if I have a choice in the color, white is definitely the easiest to keep clean. The copper is stunning and may be one of the best colors I've seen on any bike....but I just know myself and "clean". I'm just anal that way as you can see by many of my pics posted here on CR. If I get something dirty or muddy during use, it's washed and cleaned before it's stored. The Mrs. calls me "Felix Unger". I even wash and wax my push mower annually when I do the oil change.....but it's ten years old and looks and runs like new. All three of our vehicles are white, as well and besides, the TT will be Mrs 2LZ and it will match her Challenger perfectly! I think the white is a nice contrast to the graphite/black. If I ever land an RX3, it'll be white.

trust me, did not look ANYTHING like that!!!! thanks Spud, wild memories i spent hours arguing w a guy about capitalism. told him if he could improve the crappy bikes around then, he could make more money. his somewhat dismissive response was on the order of
"but why"? or "so what" lol. things have surely changed.......

Whoa, 2LZ i thought for a sec you were testing me there. when you wrote felix unger i flashed for a sec on a guy i knew at Harvard Law, by the name of roberto Unger, smart sob too! but a radical in those days inmho. now that i have looked up "felix" unger, (didn't recognize the reference) lol, it seems the two had more in common than i thought! lol

I think several factors are at play.

1. The container ship is tentatively scheduled to arrive on April 28. However, it might need to wait a few days to birth at a dock.

2. After docking, it takes a while to unload the bikes.

3. CSC doesn't know if customs will delay delivery for a thorough inspection, as they did with the last shipment of RX3 bikes.

4. CSC has a backload of RX3 bikes it is currently assembling, packing, and shipping to customers. It needs to finish them before it can start working on the TT250 bikes.

Finally, I think the estimate is intentionally conservative. Customers are usually happier when a business will underpromise, and overdeliver.

Doh!

ok, this is getting silly. shipping is NOT a "random" business but in fact quite precise. the transit time of their vessels is precisely calculated and updated on almost an hourly basis, including tracking weather, political issues, (stuff like labor unrest issues at various ports etc)

NO ONE runs a billion dollar time dependent business so imprecisely!

Either the shippers are intentionally concealing data from CSC, or they (CSC)are talking to the wrong people OR as Spud suggests CSC is intentionally feeding us inexact information to cover their butts which is unnecessary. We are all adults here, All-IN on the bikes (hell we may have already paid most of what they cost) and entitled to the best "truth" they can provide.

SOOOOOOO, 1. CSC, can we get a precise US arrival date? and 2. can you (CSC) put up an actual photo of what my formally red/ now copper bike actually looks like? I mean, can these requests be all that hard?
