i think Wolftrax is out front on the fender issue. i'm anxiously awaiting what he comes up with. you definitely need something there to keep rocks and slop off the motor. i was thinking one of those shortie 2 step types would work..

Here's a link for the rear rack. You will need to get a steel or wood plate to use as a mounting platform for the rack. Mount the plate to the bike and the rack to the plate.

I would consider longer lines and move the cooler down for clearance.

Problem moving it down is it will be in all the dirt and get clogged up thus being worthless. Someone posted a billet finned cooler a while back. That would work lower......

once you have the new valve cover with the oil pressure taps you could use just about any cooler you wanted. maybe two, one on each side of the frame rail instead of in front of it. that would eliminate the clearance issue. could even add from radiator louvers from another dirtbike to protect them. I like the redundancy of this idea because if one springs a leak you can switch the lines around to remove it from the system.

if someone wants to send me a spare valve cover I could draw it up in CAD - might be something I could CNC out on my home mill.

I was wondering if you ever considered using the aftermarket valve cover in conjunction with an oil filter relocation kit. I'm not sure how much oil pressure this engine produces, but was thinking it probably could help with longevity of the oil/engine. Do you think that could work?

It could work, but I think it's unnecessary. The cleanable strainer has been in use by Honda for decades, and it is effective at trapping debris. Regular oil changes and strainer cleaning will suffice.

Changed fork oil over the weekend. Have to say that for you new hawk owners, go ahead and change the fork oil and engine oil at the same time.
