![]() I'm glad your air filter was oiled, otherwise all that dirt would have gone into the cylinder, and the intake valves would have been damaged. Once again, I encourage everyone to follow Detour's admonition, and check your air filter. ![]()

I will say this. After cleaning the filter it was obvious that there was very little oil in the foam. It was degreased with only a quarter sized drop of dish soap.
After reoiling and reinstalling there is a noticeable difference. Less intake noise for sure and I swear stronger low end grunt. FYI I left only 4 screws on the hatch. Seems secure enough |

Dan, I use that as an opportunity to swap the Philips (or JIS, as the case may be) screws out for stainless socket head cap screws. Much more robust, and allen wrenches are easier to carry on the bike.

As I stated earlier, I use BelRay Air Filter Oil for the flat, foam air filters on my two Zongshen motorcycles. However, I use No-Toil Evolution Air Filter Oil for the conical air filters on my two Honda motorcycles.
The No-Toil system is great, since I can clean the air filters in my kitchen sink, using soap and water. I can avoid using nasty solvents, and the dirty water can be poured down the drain. ![]() ![]()

Instead of using the No-Toil Cleaner, I use an oxygen base cleaner, which I buy at the dollar store.

Since this is my first bike, I took the opportunity to start fresh and went with the No-Toil oil. There wasn't much oil on my filter, like many are experiencing, which made the switch that much easier, as other oils must be completely removed prior to using No-Toil.

![]() ![]() Did you choose the original, red No-Toil, or the new, green, No-Toil Evolution? P.S. Any oxygen based cleaner will remove the No-Toil filter oil. You can buy a pound of oxygen based cleaner at the dollar store, and save about $7/pound, instead of buying the No-Toil Cleaner. ![]()

Looks like I got the red stuff. I didn't notice the green when I picked it up. Oh well, dries faster at least.

Living in an arid climate, the green, No-Toil Evolution filter oil dries pretty quickly. I also own several, spare oil filters. Therefore, I apply oil to all the air filters at the same time, and let them dry overnight. Then I store the extra filters in a zip lock baggy. When I need to change the oil filter, I remove a spare filter from the baggy, and install it in the motorcycle.

If you live in a humid climate, the red, No-Toil filter oil will dry much faster. The alcohol will evaporate in about 30 minutes. Even though the alcohol will attack foam filters, your air filters will still last much longer than cleaning them with a harsh solvent, such as gasoline.
![]() Either the red, or the green, No-Toil filter oil will apply much easier than a petroleum filter oil. Therefore, oiling the air filters will be a much faster, easier job. Cleaning your hands is easier. You just wash your hands in the sink with a little bit of oxygen cleaner. ![]() In addition, you will only use about 2 ounces of No-Toil filter oil per filter. Since you can clean the No-Toil filters with any oxygen based cleaner, the No-Toil filter oil is not only easier to apply and clean from oil filters, it is actually less expensive than petroleum, air filter oils. ![]()

You're welcome.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After I use up my remaining bottle of BelRay Air Filter Oil, I am switching exclusively to the No-Toil system. ![]()
