, Not sure why they would say it is a KTM though. Anyone would know right away it is not. Probably could talk them even lower by complaining about how slow it is...It still has the large sprocket on the back :wink: .

KTMMEX or something like that is the stock ticker (or whatever you call those abbreviations that corporations use on Wall Street). Look at Tank's website and it shows you what it is. The bikes say something like that on the titles from what I understand. We joked about that with member 'Mrhyak' who registered his in Washington State as a KTM as well.

Yeah, I knew a guy that was selling Rolex watches for $25, too. They're cheaper in Matamoros, ya know. :roll:

The up side, I'm sure parts are cheaper. It's hard to fathom parts being any more expensive than KTM parts.

Actually for the intended rider the 56t sprocket is a plus. Bike will never see more than 45. Going to be put to deer totin duty.

It will be sent up the Sam's area in WV.

I put a 46 tooth on mine and I like it for deer totin' duty, though it is ALMOST too tall. Good thing the little motor has plenty of low end grunt. It came with 56 on the rear. Somewhere about 50 would probably be perfect, but I like the 60 mph speeds I can get now because it's 25 miles down to my place if I wanna ride the bike. Set it on 55 and it don't take that long.

With the 56 on it I was using second gear a LOT. First was almost useless except at VERY slow trail speeds. It sorta had a hole between first and second that needed to be filled.

Just my observation on deer totin' utility and gearing. He will be able to make good use of the bike, regardless, for off road geared as is. He ain't gonna wanna ride far on the highway, though.

I think the intended you is much the same as Sam's with his qlink.

It will have the occasional ride into town at about 40 for a few miles.

More important is to be able to climb the hills.

What are, "hills".

Way mine is, it doesn't pull well against a stiff wind. So, even when you gear one taller, I mean, it ain't like it's a Jixxer or something.

I don't really know how mine would climb up a really steep hill. The hunting club I used to be in had a ranch leased out in west Texas, 13,000 acres. The pasture I liked to hunt, about 700 acres, had a road up a cliff with rocks that was rather steep. I could get a running shot at it with my 4x4 Toyota and make it without locking the hubs, but it'd be gasping once I got on top.

There was another climb out of a wash where I couldn't get a run at, had to lock the hubs. I wonder with this gearing if the bike would climb that? I can think of other steep 4x4 roads I've been on, too. I do have the old sprocket, though.

Would have to add a few links to the chain, but I think I saved the links I cut out thinking about that IIRC. I've got other 428 chain around, anyway, from all my XR100 stuff.

Small Mountains.

WV has some some steep terrain.

I think the 56T will work out just right since the planned needed top end is bout 45.

Hey katoranger! I received the 56 tooth sprocket Monday. Thank you very much! I really appreciate the sprocket for my chinabike project. Hopefully, it will work. In the long term I may eventually go with a 520 chain conversion. If so, I will pass the sprocket on to someone else.

Nobody would buy that bike thinking it was a KTM. Unless they are clueless about motorcycles. Ebay should pull that.

I just got off the phone with the local QLink dealer! They have no idea where my parts are. I have to call back later. :roll: These people seem to seriously not want anymore of my business. I'm getting ready to make that happen for them. I'm calling the dealer in Cross Lanes.

My ol Maxfine was so low geared that even with the 42 tooth 1st gear was almost useless. Not sure on the rest of the bikes but I would be out of first in nano seconds on the road. With the original sprocket it would probably climb a fricken tree
