Some of these companies like to "bait and switch" the customer. While the bike is CARB legal, it is not legal for on-road, but would qualify for a green or a red sticker off-road.

There are 4 ways that I have figured out how to get a street-legal Chinese bike in Calif--1) buy an existing bike off of Craigslist that someone managed to license. 2) try to license your own CARB legal bike--more likelier up north in rural-ish towns. 3) Buy a UM (United Motors) enduro 4) go through a dealer who has been getting them registered i.e. TXX Motorsports of Orange County, or JP Motorsports of San Diego.

We have a UM dealer in town. Sat on the bike--great and all, but the dealer has $2999 (UM's MSRP $2799) plus freight, assembly, tax, etc. here in Yuma--$3600 OTD! Excellent warranty which on paper is even better than pretty much every brand out there, Skyteam-built in China even though the dealer insists its Korean (says Skyteam on the info plate on the bike and made in China); UM is the exclusive distributor of Skyteam which I found out when I emailed Skyteam. However, as far as I know, they are the only Chinese enduro street legal in Calif.

What happened with the Qlink, or did you get scared of me because they only had one orange bike left ? Anthony insists that they get the Qlinks registered for the road in Calif.

Last March, I purchased a Jialing Viva VX200SX that was CARB legal. It looked exactly like that bike. It had all the smog equipment and a CARB sticker. Check with the company to be sure but I'd say yes, it's CARB legal. Only they will know for sure.

SamM, the problem with CARB legal is that most of these bikes are Calif. legal for off-road use only. Some bikes aren't even legal for off-road in Calif., such as the Lifan GY-2 and GY-5 model; and those are 48 or 49 state legal for the road!

Move to another state like West Virginia where everything is legal.

We can legalize quads, off-road buggies, any bike with the necessary street equipment, etc. in AZ. It's just too bad that the state is oftentimes clueless on other matters!

Probably ok in AZ with turn signals.

GA is getting tough too. Use to be able to dual sport XRs and KDXs by sticking the proper equipment on.

Why not? I do remember seeing a CR250 in Santa Barbara with a Calif. plate in the mid-90's going down the road (full street equipment).

A friend of mine in the 90's bought a CR250 that hadn't been registered for several years. He went to the DMV, and he could either pay over $400 to get its off-road registration uop to date, or something like $80 to get it street registered, which he did (he never did get it on the road, however).

I think Calif. started cracking down in the late 90's. I do understand the 2-strokes, but I would think with all the traffic jams, a 4-stroke dual sport cutting through traffic (lane splitting is legal) would help solve the traffic and pollution issues.
