New Member from Philippines

Hello from the the land of typhoons and great food!! I'm an older American living in a suburb of Manila with my lovely filipina wife. We currently have 2 bikes (Mine--Yamaha YBR 125G, My Wife--Kymco Visa-R 110cc) I'm looking into purchasing a Zongshen RX3 (Here it's called a Motorstar Z250R)

I'd like to compliment everyone on amount of helpful information I've read thus far. Here in the Philippines we get the carb version of the RX3, I'm not to thrilled about that plus the lack of parts and the lack of knowledgeable service personnel is worrisome as well. However after reading numerous threads here I've gained a little confidence.

My background is definitely not mechanical, I'm a retired Computer Programmer who finds screwdrivers puzzling.....lol

Anyway, I'm happy to be aboard and look forward to all your advice, Cheers.

Welcome!

As a retired programmer, you're going to have to get used to hardware problems.

I would be happy with a carb'd version of the RX3; FI is wonderful for many reasons, but a carb will certainly get the job done.

I'd love to see pics of your bikes, if you have time.

Welcome to the forum. I haven't been to the Philippines since 1989. There's nowhere like the PI!

As Requested here are photos of my 2014 Yamaha YBR 125G

I bought this bike last year and have nothing but great things to say about it. It's a fuel injected 125cc motor, 5-speed transmission and great fun to zip around town. I love the retro look......cheers

Here's a picture of my wife on her bike.......a Kymco Visa-R, 110cc scooter.

I can see the pics now. I really like the headlight shroud design, the five spoke rims and the low exhaust. Cool bike!

The Kymco looks good with big wheels; I bet it's easy to ride. Your lovely wife seems happy with it.

The YBR 125G is a nice little motorcycle. Thanks for posting the photos.
