Long time... but the Lifan lives!
So,
As life does, it gets in the way of dual sport Chinese motorcycles. But, as quickly as you are denied an opportunity presents itself.... So, I don't know which event or series of events kept me off the Lifan, but I know what is keeping me off it NOW. But I digress, I've tried to lurk in an appropriate fashion and have come to the following conclusions: The fork seal replacement thread solved issue #1, the leaky fork P!55ing me off and making a mess in my garage. But I need a single rear spoke! In the process of making my Lifan safe, I dropped it from about 9 inches, directly onto my garage floor and I heard the most awful 'ping', and then the spoke swung down and illustrated my failure. My goal: fix the Lifan and sell it. This spoke thing has gotten the better of me and I am no longer interested in the thrill of the hunt as far as parts go. I've sourced what needs to be sourced, but it is not possible to justify the time spent searching anymore for the simplest thing. So, I'll happily give someone up to $3 USD for a single lifan GY5 rear wheel spoke. And, after I'm done driving it to work for a few weeks, I'm going to sell it. Love it love it love it - sanity can't take it .... Daddy

Any bicycle shop can make you a spoke.

Oh, I think your in luck if it's an 18inch rear rim. I have a whole bag of em with nipples. I had the discovery of my rear going out on me a few years ago when I bought a HISUN VIVA200SE bike used. Soooooo, I had to replace the entire rear tire due to the bearings being dried out from the previous owner! But I saved the original hub and spokes for learning purposes..
Send me a PM with your address and I'll send you a few if these type of spokes are what you need. If not http://www.buchananspokes.com/ sells them in individual spokes but you'll have to measure and give them the metrics.. Spud would also know too. He's one of the truing aficionado's around these forums. |

Daddy, I think you should accept MrPete's gracious offer.
Indeed, if you send them a sample spoke, Buchanan's will make for you the proper custom spoke/s.
