Lifan 200cc Cross
Searched and didn't see this posted here before. Maybe it has.
I think it's a really good-looking CB. Based on some quick reading it's an overseas-only model.

Lifan 200cc Cross with an OHV motor. Selling here in Thailand for current RRP of $1174. Actually made here too (maybe motors are imported - not sure). Was going to buy one, but bought a mish-mash proper trials bike instead, as i found the highway speed/gearing was just too slow for me personally. Off road test was excellent and i was impressed.
The bike i bought was an 89-90 Aprilia Climber with a 20hp Yamaha 2 stroke RXZ 135 air cooled engine shoe horned in. It goes well enough with 11/51 gearing (std being 15/36 !!), but it's still a 2 stroke. My plan is to buy a new Lifan engine ($400 inc reg/rectifier, CDI, carb, starter motor) later in the year and fit that (with difficulty). My previous thread i will update later rather than sooner with pics at the local wholesalers with an interesting and unusual Lifan 200/230 engine option i spotted of SHAFT DRIVE with a transfer box which gives you REVERSE too. Extra cost over chain drive, wait for it, $30. Yep, 30 Bucks. Last edited by thaiguzzi; 08-16-2015 at 11:58 PM. Reason: spelling |

Thanks for you input.
That Aprilia sounds like a beast! And the shaft drive Lifan sounds cool too. I think 300cc would be the sweet spot for the US market. PS - tried to edit my 20cc (!) thread title but couldn't do it.
