New Roketa rat bike owner (lots of pics)

Greets! I found this site last night from a video on youtube. I just picked up a 2005 Roketa enduro as a project bike. It needs some tlc and currently has the look of a rat bike. I'm glad I found this site because it looks like there is a ton of great info here (i run a site like this for Chevy Astro Vans and GMC Safari vans< so I know what a great community these kinda sites can be)

Anyway, its not much to look at right now, but it was $50 had has a clear title. If anyone could tell me which model this bike is it would be greatly appreciated the engine number is 163FMI

here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Welcome

What in the world did they do to that poor bike 8O Looks like a 2005 year model, Shares a lot of parts with my bike..Which shares parts with Viva.
So fixing her up should not be a problem...Might cost as much as a new one though. Guess that depends on how far You want to restore it.

Well i messed with it for a few minutes and the good news is that it turns over and has spark, but apparently the carb is clogged because it would not fire up.

hopefully parts wont be too expensive, but i'm not going for a perfect restro so it may stay as a rat bike...a Ratketa maybe..

Madman,
You may want to see if any of your local bike shops have a graveyard for bikes and see what you may be able to pickup there... Most of these bikes share the same designs as the 80's Honda XR's... Just a thought..

Welcome to the site. Its a shame that you live far away because I had a complete rolling chassis (with AZ title and license plate) with a dead engine for $200. I finally got the planets aligned enough that I bought a brand new Lifan engine off Ebay for $292, including shipping, so will not consider selling the bike until the next major catastrophe happens, LOL

Welcome to the site madmanjustice!

I believe that Roketa is produced by Shineray. Your bike has the same speedometer/idiot lights setup as my Shineray 'Speedee' 200. As others have mentioned, lots these Chinese bikes share parts with each other.

Good luck getting it running! We're here for you.

I can't see the pics at work, but it sounds rough.

You can probably just clean the carb out and get it running. These carbs are pretty simple.

Adapting parts from other china bikes and also jap bikes is not hard.

At home now. With everything that is missing it stills has the turn signals.

It has the same gas tank as my Lifan GY2. My guess is that it needs the carb cleaned out and fresh gas.

Check to see if a salvage yard has any xr200s for an exhaust also.

Only 1200 km on the odo. Speedo cable is likely to be broken.

It may be, but by looking at the rear tire it is pretty worn for 1200km. Of course they may have been doing burnouts.
