well I went to put the air box back on after trying a couple of sudgestions from co-workers (mechanics) and noticed a huge crack in the air box that is in a stress point so rather than try to fix it I am going to go on e-bay and see about getting one that isn't cracked lol. ok so no biggie haul the zongshen 250 out to get that ready to ride next weekend because I am dying to go for a ride and it will not start. hmmmmmm.
test this test that and low and behold 3 of the ignition wires at the key switch have been broken off from movement.......off to gnarly parts for a new one and it will be in next week.

ok so here is the air box as I found it
I figured why not try to .......yes you guessed it FRANKENSTICH time started with multiple holes on either side of the crack multiple zap straps after that to suck the crack back together some good hot glue to seal all the holes back up and good as new

Looks good to me. I'd test it out like that. But personally I don't think the hot glue is going to stick for very long.
I'd peel it all off. Should be fairly easy. And use shoe-goo on it. Should last forever with that stuff. And it's flexible too Dave |

the hot glue was first forced into all the drill holes then covered over with more but good on the shoe goo ....used to use that on subwoofer surround rips

Atta boy! No self-respecting China Rider would pay $95 for a new air box without at least trying to repair the broken one. I hope it works well for you.

ok so I got back at it today and re-installed the air box and air tube with new clamps so there are no leaks....hit the start buton and it fires up and idles....hit the throttle and it dies and will not start again...tried for over an hr and still nothing.
getting fuel, spark and air so I am at a loss as to what it is. makes no sence to me why I can t/s a 4 stroke and not a 2 stroke.

today cleaned out the tank and filled with straight fuel, added mix to oil tank, bled oil pump and still nothing not even a hint that it is going to start.......

I know how frustrating and elusive two smokes can be, despite their apparent simplicity.
After you get a new CDI, give me a call.
