qlink tuning joy...

Well ive spent the last couple weeks tweeking the carb, plastic bits, and chain tension.

All my effort has led to me over filling the oil, setting the tach to the wrong setting, super enriching my carb, and finally cranking the bike with the oil drained.... lol

Thankfully I figured out the tach before blowing hp the.engine trhing to get past 5k rpm to many times.

Now for the real reason for the post. I have the carb tuned about as well as Im gonna get. Every thing is great till Im getting on it for an extended time.(45-60 secs of full throttle I hit a wall and the engine really cuts out. Similar to a redline bump.
Is this a float level issue? Not letting enough fuel into the bowl maybe.

I drilled the jets out, will be replacing with as close of size to the bits used.

Wow, I don't think I've ever held a bike wide open for 60 seconds, unless I'm trying a land speed record. The berm or turn usually came long before that.....
Could possibly be a safety cutoff to prevent self-destruct? We had a member here at one time who insisted on holding his Q wide open for extended periods and had a (expected) major meltdown.

That said, it could be float level, CDI cut-off, if you opened the jets large, maybe the petcock isn't feeding enough to keep up, restriction of a fuel filter, etc...etc...

You doing the salt flats? ;-)
