Look on the top of your swingarm and look for a hole, maybe yours fell out.
Same here. The existing grease fitting was worthless and the gun wouldn't fit it, so I replaced the fitting and greased the swing arm. I did not appear that it had been greased at the factory, so it is definitely something you would want to take care of.

Very clear, picture clear, thankyou for your time and typing Ob1. I copied and pasted your explanation into notepad, so if I loose the thread, I have the info. I might not get to do the job for a week or so. N2r.

You could also drill and tap a hole in the swingarm and install a grease zerk.

Yes Kato, I think I could. (physically able and within my limitations) but I've got so much else I want to do with the bike. I'll put it on the list. I'm making my wife's god daughter's wedding present, it's taking forever and I'm on a deadline, 3 weeks. If I get it done the sooner I'm planning a long ride. About 350km each way. When I'm not working on the gift, I'm preping and testing my bike for my trip to Sarnia. Winter is when I want to do things like tap in a swing arm zerk/nipple.

Yes, and it would be much easier if you have time to remove the swingarm and drill and tap a hole for the grease zerk. My bike came with one, but it is cheap and it needs to be replaced.

It never really gets too cold here in Atlanta, so I tend to ride year round. I grew up in the midwest winters in Iowa and Minnesota and know what it is like to have all winter to work on projects.

Ok I'm bad. I haven't greased up the bike yet. With my trip coming up I would like to get it done. Moly grease has been suggested for the swing arm and axles, I have also read that any lube is better than none. I have some lithium grease, and cash is running low. Do you think I should use the Lithium? Will it be ok? What's the difference? Thanks in advance for for taking the time to answer folks. Mike/
