it seems to be a different engine than the gy6, maybe it is the pushrod not ohc?

Motostar have been offering MSX150 and MSX200 since 2005 in the Philippines. I believe (from Forum Threads discussing such).
In 2011 they offered the MSX200-II with Monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes front and back, and with inverted front forks. This seemed to be the same as the KAMEX 'Warrier' More recently they seemed to drop the MSX200-II since they introduced the TRLAX 200 The MSX 150-S (the MSX 150-III) are not sold under Zongshen brand of motorcycle. Motostar are bad at putting the correct data to the particular Motorcycle. Here Motorstar displays the 2 x Zongshen CYCLONE 'FLY' models, ie ZS150 GY-10 Dual Sport (Moto X155), and the SuperMotard ZS150 GY-10C (Moto R155) . Did you spot the MISTAKE that Motostar made? (they got the 'R' and 'X' around the wrong way!) http://www.motorstar.com.ph/products/trlax-200 They also Quote the TRLAX 200, Bore x Stroke: 56.5mm x 49.5mm = 124cc! Actually it turns out the TRLAX with its Zongshen ZS167 FML engine is also sold as the Corven TRIAX (so perhaps Motostar read TRIAX as TRLAX)? I would look into the motox155 our member here "jeremy2011" has one in the Philippines and has enjoyed it and this bike has more power than the 200 because of the water cooled engine and higher compression. Just my two cents worth.

I think Jeremy has the R155 version (supermoto), I am still very interested in the X155. I keep looking at what it will take to increase suspension travel, power and so on on my Yamaha YBR125G, and if I use US parts, it will cost more than half of what the X155 has and will probably still not be up to spec.
I will still keep the YBR, it is a great all-round bike. It can easily handle the three of us (gf, kid and myself), we have done 500 mile weekend trips around the coast and across the mountains, very steep climbs. That is two-up with luggage (traveling in the Philippines is much slower than in the US) It has very good parts and support, gets 250+ miles on a tank of gas, and is super reliable. Light and still decently sized for 'Kanos'. The X or R 155 seem to have a fair bit more suspension travel and also more sophisticated suspension, and should offer a bit more power, although I don't think they are as practical day to day. At least then I will have a spare bike to lend friends, apart from the Chinese 125 business bike I will probably put on the rental or tricycle market. Quote:

Update: I looked a lot more at the new MSX200 II, it has Zongshen stampings / labels on motor and several other parts, so definitely not the Kamex Warrior
Seems that it is an OHC Honda CB clone motor, about the only power specs I can find seem to indicate about 12.3 KW (16.5 hp) and 14.5 NM or so for torque, almost identical to the Honda XR200. Other references seem to put those figures at 11.5 / 15.1, which is similar to the old TRLAX / 200 II Yamaha-based model. Design and quality is much improved over the old model, riding position is very close to dirt bike / dual sport standard versus the more cruiser / road bike 'foot forward' position of the older TRLAX. If I compare things like the foot peg hangers and other chassis parts to my Yamaha or Haojue ('commercial' bike) 125, quality is vastly better. Quality of design and manufacture is one of the best the best out of the Chinese bikes I have seen out here, including most of the other models imported by Motorstar. That is reflected in the price. The other quality chinabike I have seen is the MCX Renegade 250, about $300 more at P81K to P86K. So far pricing has dropped from P71K (under $1700) to P67K 'cash price'. I suspect it would go lower with some bargaining, and comparing to the 'cash price' on the two 150s. That includes tax, title, insurance and IIRC first year service. Not bad considering Philippines pricing is usually substantially more than USA. I really like this bike for the price. It has the USD fork from the R155, the 21/18" wheels from the X155, an 'improved' rack / grab handle which will have to be replaced for touring, and an exhaust can heat shield. The headlight unit also looks to be fractionally different. From what I can find on the internet, power is substantially up on the 150 water-cooled motor, which is about halfway between the 200 and my 125 Yamaha. Biggest issue for me is the weight, 10KG over the XR200, and 20KG (44 lb) over the YBR Yammie, but then the frame and subframes look much more robust than the XR, and the saddle seems longer as well, better for two-up work. I also think that the stylized rear rack, exposed area between rack and saddle and bulbous bodywork will make fitting soft luggage difficult, and cause hard bags to stick out too far. Has anybody seen these (200 air-cooled or 150 water-cooled) or the equivalent Zongshen Fly 150 in the USA or elsewhere yet? |

If you are basing the Specifications of the NEW MCX200-II on what you see on Motostar website, then double check them! Motostar often quote 125cc bore and stroke for 150cc and 200cc models.
