At 7000 feet, you should have plenty of fuel with the stock jet. If it's starting and running well, I'd run it. The classic sign of the needle needing to be moved if it it starts hard, or starts but is really cold blooded. You should be able to fire the bike cold and remove the choke after 30 seconds or so and it should keep an idle. If not, you are a little lean and/or have the idle set too low.

It starts fine for me, But anyone who I let ride it always gives it a little gas before trying..It takes a few extra turns and full choke after that. When I start it I leave the gas alone and choke it..I let the choke off slowly after it starts and give it some revs..No prob..But I thought it might need to be leaned out. And the backfiring seems like to much..But it might just be the way the motor is...My hondas never popped..So I was wondering if it can be cured..Thanks for the reply.

Up to 8600 miles. Still haven't changed anything with the jetting. I'm a bit reluctant since it runs so well...even if it is lean [which I'm sure it is at WOT] but I never have a problem starting and it never backfires or pops on decel so I'll probably just leave it as is. Plus, it still gets a consistant 75mpg. The same with the DB-07B. I did all the other mods, but I haven't changed the air box out yet.

The first thing to do is raise the carb needle if you haven't done so already. I have learned that it is mostly for idle to mid rpm. For high rpm the main jet needs to be larger.
