Vixen VX250 - UK Rider
Particularly FAO:
Weldangrind, SpudRider, katoranger and anyone else who may like to have a look and chip in with comments etc! Its here guys, been a bit excited for sure and didn't want to tempt fate before I got my grubby hands on it but as promised here is a few pic of the new bike. Questions Its defined as 249cc but I'm not so sure - engine id the 167FMM OHC - is this the Honda 230cc clone? How can I check for sure? Frame no: LSRYCNLAX8AXXXXXX - I read somewhere that these characters signify manufacturer, origin etc - any ideas what it means? Enjoy and don't forget comments please. [/b] |

"Moto Super"
Nice looking bike. I'm not a fan of the shiny engine bits, or that enormous front fender, but overall pretty nice. How does it go?

Yay! New bike day!
I believe that the engine is 230cc, with a 67mm bore. Son of Weldangrind has the pushrod version of the 230, and it's remarkably torquey. Be sure to set the valves right away; they're notoriously tight on new engines. That's a most interesting heat shield; I've not seen one quite like it before. What is it made of? I'll let others chime in with their experiences, but I would choose to remove the ABS device from the front wheel. Nice looking machine overall. I hope it gives you many happy miles.

Nice score, Andy! Your bike looks great, and with only 500 kilometers on the odometer, it is virtually brand new.

The exhaust heatshield is very unusual I agree. Its steel, chrome plated but not to a high gloss finish? It would be nice to think its stainless steel but not in China land I fear......dream on!

It's probably nickel plated. At least you can black it out if it begins to rust.

Hey that looks nice .
It appears to be an OHC 250 and I don't think I've seen one of those before :P .

Hey Andy,
nice bike! I'm quite jealous of the extra power you've got over me from that motor. |

Gonna start a blog about the life and times of my new Vixen - with a bit of general Chinese stuff thrown in - all inspired by White2505 and his Shed Built Racer blog:

That's very nice - looks like my gy-5 but mine is a 200cc pushrod.
I really like my bike and hope you enjoy yours as much. Frog |
