What's the going recommendation for a DS Chinabike?

Numba 2 Son is making "I wanna motorcycle" noises...got a job and some money, so I may give in...

I'd say a Qlink/Qingqi, but I don't know the latest, I don't know what's street legal anymore either.

Bill, I would look for a Zong or Q also. You already did the lifan, but you may be able to find a used hondoid pretty cheap.

I was thinking Zong or another Hondoid. Haven't done the search thing yet.

The Zong has a great little engine, Bill. I have ridden over 40,000 miles on my Zong's engine, and it has never run better. However, in stock form, the Zong is limited to supermoto status, since you can't get a decent knobby tire for the stock, 15-inch rear wheel. :(

The QLinks are good bikes, and unlike the Zong, they are still being imported into the United States. Of course, you can usually find a good deal searching Craigslist for a slightly used hondoid.

The TMEC200's are starting to show up once again-seem like a decent bike, and should be had for between $1k (you have to fudge the fact that you are thinking of opening a dealership and want to try a sample) and $1500.
