Roketa DB-05 spark arrester?
Hey guys,
I need a bolt on spark arrester for my bike. Anyone found a good match for a Roketa DB-05 ? I found a great deal for a Cobra Sparky at http://www.monkeybuttparts.com/pk4/s...ew_product=529 I have no idea which honda bike or other listed has a similar exhaust. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Measure across the exhaust ring. The white line in this pic to get the diameter and order a universal one. Mine measured 2 3/8". Hope this helps.

I tried that, mine is only 1.5" in Dia. It is shaped like a old enduro exhaust.
Dont have a pic at the moment. Thanks anyway |

I thought those Sparky's were just for 2 strokes... heck I didn't even know Cobra still made them. But I guess a spark arrester would function the same either way.
Are you sure you don't already have a spark arrested exhaust from the factory? I thought they were required for street legal bikes, but I could easily be wrong about that.

I know of no requirement for street legal bikes to have spark arrestors.
But I do know that many state and federal trail systems require spark arrestors to ride. Are they checked? Depends on where you ride, California is famous for stringent checks, I've never been checked here in SC. Still, it's a good idea to have a spark arrestor. If your bike does have a spark arrestor, it should be stamped into the muffler "USFS approved spark arrestor". Probably the easiest way to get a spark arrestor AND added performance is to get a SuperTrapp exhaust. It is a tunable exhaust, by adding or removing discs. I have one I'm not running right now, for a Honda XR200 {no, not for sale!}. I will see what I can do about taking some pictures and measurements. I know they make universal models, the only thing left would be taking care of mounting tabs/brackets, no big deal. |

Hi Guys
The mufflers Do have a sparkarrester in them already...the big thing is they are not stamped on the muffler---U.S. Forrest Spark Arrester Approveed---and yes all Motorcycles/Quads need a spark arrester from the factory...in the U.S.A. If you look on any motorcycle/quad {non Chinese} Stock exhaust they are either D.O.T. Approved or US Forrest Approved. Only some of the Chinese bikes/quads say this on the exhaust. I'm not sure how they are getting away with not putting it on the muffler but a lot are...this will just be another E.P.A./Government issue in the near future. I hope this helps. Bruce

I also would bet that before you can ride on state/federal forest/trails that you would be required to have one with a label stating it has an approved spark arrester. :( So even though the bike may have one, if it's not labeled then they could probably give ya a hard time about it.
Then again, I have a supertrapp left over from my KLR650 that I don't believe is labelled as approved spark arrester either... so I'm not sure how they know what's approved if it's not stamped/labeled. Things that make ya go 'Hmmmmmmm.'

It's a $100 fine here in Oregon if you get caught with a unmarked muffler and if lightning starts a fire while someone sees you riding a trail they will try to accuse you of starting it!

I looked at my SuperTrapp, it is stamped USFS approved.
Why they stamped it on the back, instead of on top, mystifies me. |

OK, I'm going to need one of these without changing the whole exhaust or silencer.
Damn, maybe I should read up on how to weld and get a used spark of any kind? |
