Battery leak from fill cap area, can I save it?

Last Pic in gallery page 9.
Battery keeps a good charge. A couple of eye droppers full of acid leaked from the cap area. Cap does not seat properly, pushing on it doesn't help. The leak looks new, like it hasn't been happening long. Did I disasemble the battery wrong? I took green off and taped it, then took red and off and taped it. There was no short.

Question: Can I pull the cap, add water, and reseal it some how? Epoxy? Or will it always keep leaking and it's time to buy another battery. Thanks for any help you can give. N2r

I'd trash it, And get a advanced glass mat battery or AGM.
I doubt You could get it to seal again..And acid leaking on bike parts is not a good thing...
I doubt You did anything wrong, unless You dropped it ha ha

Mine doesn't hold a charge very well, but it may have been from alot of short trips and starts. I was looking for parts in the junkyard and stopping every 100 yards.

No moly, technically my bike is still under warranty, but if I see my dealer again I'm afraid I'll just smash him. I can't resist gluing it. I'm waiting for my sprocket so my bike is up on a milk crate anyway. Did the muffler, carb, air filter, sparkplug, mod and now the bike runs great on the milk crate. Moving the battery now. I'll use it to test the bike on the crate. It's a Canadian long weekend, I get my sprocket back on tuesday, I'll pick up a new battery then. I'll switch it out before I ride. Thanks for the advice folks. N2r.
