300cc Dual Sport from American Lifan
First time post. Thought I would bring something interesting tot he table for my first pst.
Spoke on the phone to Jeremy from american Lifan. From what I gather he is the main sales representative for american Lifan out of Dallas. Anyway during our converstaion, I was made aware that testing and refinement of a 300cc dual sport is in the workds and American Lifan is expecting iot to be available for sale in the Use this Winter around Jan/Feb 2008. Im not saying this is fact...Im just being the messenger. Anyone else hear this? I know I will wait taking the plunge on purchasing a 200 with hopes of this 300 comming available. Still, right now waiting for delivery of a Lf200GY-5 that I purchased to give to my dad for this fathers day. |

Welcome to the site! I'm sure the 300 would open up a whole new market for Chinese bikes.

Great news. A 300cc dual sport will make the 200cc dual sport market even more cheaper (can you say even more cheaper?).

300 cc's would be nice BUT if the Chinese R & D isn't any better then their quality control, I'm not sure I'd want to be one of the first to purchase the new bike 8O . I can envision them just sticking the new powerplant into the existing frames, and that would be BAD!

TRUE! The frames on the 200 already are bordeline pathetic for anything other than mild trail riding so I have been informed. |

I'd atleast like to have 1cc for every pound I weigh so a 250cc is still a bit shy but I could balloon into a 300cc.

I dont think I will want a GY-5. Not cause I dont think its a great bike cause I really do. But after racing motocross throughout the 80's and 90's on 500 cc 2 stroke and my current ride being a YZ450F I think Id probably always want more motor than 200cc. I wish companies like Lifan etc would make aftermarket parts such as big bore kits for these bikes the way the China pit bikes have them everywhere. But I think I could deal with 300 cc...lot more torque for wheelies.... with that jump in cc's even just 50cc from 200cc. Well once I get the GY-5 for my Dad, if you are right and I want one, be sure I will purchase from you...and plan on me hammering you for the same deal I got on this one! Thanks for all your efforts. |
