I also remember the accident and you believing it possessed after the next owner had the accident too.

I have the safety vest too, well it's more of a tshirt but I only wear it for work, because they make me.

I don't wear any high vis gear on the bike, but always make sure my lights are on. I don't do a lot of night riding either. I did a trip from BC to Alberta last summer, and it was extremely foggy on the way back. I just kept my speed down because I was unfamiliar with the road, and kept an eye on my mirrors to make sure no one came up a lot faster then me from behind. Eventually a semi caught me, and I let him by then followed him so I had lights to follow and more lights for people to see.

The high viz grows on you (did on me anyway!). Love my Tourmaster Trasitions 2 jacket. It's a little tight on me, but I don't think that's the jackets fault

Cheers,
Stew

Edit: Shoot, my pics a little big... Apologies for blowing the pages formatting out. My bad.

No, I'm not wearing a tie. I took that trip to Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Parks in September of last year. The overnight low temperatures were at freezing, but the high temperatures were in the upper seventies. Therefore, I was wearing layers to peel off as the day warmed up. The outer layer is my waterproof/windproof raingear, and it has a black velcro band over the zipper than extends to the black collar.

I almost invariably take my rain jacket when I go riding. Since the rain gear is waterproof, it is also windproof. Therefore, I usually don my rain jacket in the cooler mornings, and evenings. In addition, I am prepared if it actually rains! As an added benefit, the rain gear is light in weight.

I have some cheap PVC raingear. It works well for cold weather protection.
