These are all the bolts i have order so far, hope it helps. But haven't installed them yet. I figured i'll just see how the stock go with just lock tight and keep checking them. I'll keep the new ones on hand if needed. I'm not going to be doing any stunts or wheels, easy riding ;). So i think it will be ok.

Ok update on my Hellcat.
Seems to be running pretty good right now... after my cylinder head fiasco.(My fault...broke a intake bolt and ruined the hole trying to get it out.) I had to replace the head and adjusted valves and timing a few times.

Rode it today easily got to 50 but didn't want to press it yet. Keep it around 25-45 for a hour.
Definitely feels like it wants to do more. Seems to be running better the more i ride it.

Current Mods.

Mikuni Carb
26mm intake
fuel line/filter
Painted Black
FenderEliminator / Led rear turn signals

What bolt did you break that caused you to replace the whole head?

I broke one of the intake mount bolts, i pretty much f'd it up more trying to take it out. Totally my fault breaking it. i didn't know if it was fixable and the cost to fix was more then a new head... here some pics

replaced with this

Your old head is fixable. Pick up aluminum welding rod at Harbor freight, Propane torch, fill in hole and drill and tap for bolt. Done this a few times on outboard motors before youtube was invented lol. ;)

Was the bolt to long that you put into it? I noticed the kit from amazon the bolts bottomed out in the engine case. I’m just hoping I didn’t bust into the engine case but I haven’t had issues yet.

Thank for that video i was wondering how to do that. I might give it a shot some free day. But i don't know if it would be worth the time and money. I would have to buy a few tools and materials. New head was only $60

I had to swap the bolts that were on the old carb since they are shorter. Did you actually punch through the head or did you just rip the threads out?

Where did you order your Hellcat from? Having quite the time trying to find a place that has them in stock.

i think he painted it black.
red, white, and blue ones all over the web.

neltron 05-11-2018 11:26 AM

I know he painted it black I was just asking who he order it from, I've looked at all the major distributors online that ship and can't find any that have the hellcat in stock. They are all waiting on the freight shipment.

You may be able to add them to the cart but I got a call a few days later from FamilyGoKart's saying that there is roughly a 3-week wait. Seems to be the case for a lot of the sellers.

Try craiglist?

I got mine from https://www.wmsbrighton.com
I think most places are sold old out from what i hear, which is a good and bad thing. The place i got mine from only had blue left. I hated blue but i was going to paint any color i got black from the start, so i didn't care. They told me they didn't know when they would get more, but that was a few months ago.

Trumps blocking all shipments from china :( J/k :)

culcune 05-11-2018 07:31 PM

Member dh linked this to Kronik Racing in Simi Valley, California, for the Boom Vader 'lil duc--2016 models; for some reason the $799 deal is only listed in Las Vegas??

Will these things even remotely keep up with a Grom? Will they wheelie at all? I've been looking for a reasonable alternative to the Grom/Z125s, because they are still going used for like 3k. The Lifan KP mini is what i've been most interested in, as it its 150cc and a 5speed, and claims to have a few more hp. I rather like how they look as well, and Lifan seems to make a pretty decent quality bike.

That pipe looks like a yosh, or at least a yosh knock off. lol Were you able to buy parts for a grom that fit directly or where did you get them? Hell, I'd throw 800 at one just to see, but shipping to KS might be expensive... Bike looks good though! Did that ticking sound start after the head replacement?

That Boom looks just like the SSR Razkull!

lineman55 05-12-2018 08:20 AM

I looked at the Razkull, Lifan Mini and the Benelli TNT135. They are all cool bikes. I ended up buying the Benelli and it should be here next week. It is the most expensive of the three but after I saw how difficult is was to get a Razkull going at the dealer, I'm paying more for the fuel injection. The Benelli also has the most horsepower with a four valve dual spark plug engine. I think they top out a 72 mph bone stock. Also has a 5 speed which the Razkull doesn't. I'll report on the Benelli as soon as I get it on the road. I'm buying it sight unseen. Just internet pics. and youtube vids. Cost of the Benelli was 3g's shipped to NJ. You can get a Razcull well under 2g's and the Lifan is somewhere in the middle. Someone summed it up nicely. Dropping a new Lil Duck doesn't hurt as much as dropping a new Z125. I had an old Harley Iron Head Sportster for many years. I'm kinda through with shit falling apart, vibration and oil leaks. I wanted a bike that was going to be trouble free, brand new and between 2-3 grand that I could run errands on and travel down country roads at my own pace. I might get a full size bike next year if I feel the need to go back on the highways or have a passenger. Good luck in your quest! I recommend Kurt at Woods Addict Cycles in Wisconsin. He's got SSR, Benelli and Lifan. Handled my transaction perfectly and is a family business.

Derekon2s 05-12-2018 12:42 PM

Sounds cool, i'd like to see it. I've had my eye on the KP mini for the last 8 months probably. I found a place in texas that'd ship to me in Kansas for 2250 shipped. But I found a used one for like 1800 on facebook marketplace with 400 miles. Thinking about offering him 1500, wouldn't have to pay near as much property taxes either. It has the 5 speed also, and a few more hp. I think it'd be a pretty fun bike.

lineman55 05-12-2018 02:45 PM

The KP Mini is a cool bike. If you could score one locally for $1500 I'd say its a good deal.

Got her sounding a lot better and running.
Just need to adjust the air/fuel screw a little.

Add these two mods. The fuel screw works but doesn't fit perfectly. It did make my bike run better tho, so i left it.

Chinabike 06-02-2018 02:38 PM

Hellcat ride.... Sorry for helmet strap noise.

Short little Hellcat ride from the other day.

I also installed the oil cooler today and it came out great. I also repositioned the carb and intake to the side/back. So happy with it now i can actually get to the fuel/mix screw. I'll post the pics soon.

Hey Chinabike ! Man throw some pix up of the carb spun around and the oil cooler for sure ,I have a carb spinner coming for my Vader (My Vader is finally supposed to ship the 16th of July) and the oil cooler too, I'm interested in seeing where you mounted the "radiator" part of the cooler as well as where the oil take off and return hoses are routed ,I have seen a Grom install but the Grom motor and the Vader /Hellcat motors are two different things .I don't plan to offroad the Vader at all but I am still wanting to make sure the oil cooler hoses can be routed in such a way that they wont get easily snatched loose or off by road debris, etc. Asl o the "radiator" part needs to be where the wind can hit it ,but at the same time not overly exposed to road hazards.
did you have any issues with throttle cable length after you changed the carb from front facing to rearward facing? I wouldn't think so since the original carb faces to the rear but the mikuni intake is a bit longer iirc. Anyways glad you got the parts in and installed and like them ,can't wait for mine to finally get here so I can start on it ,I'm missin' out on my summer ridin time !!

Chinabike 07-16-2018 03:28 PM

here you go.
The carb is not directly pointed to the back, Its more to the side.
so i can get to the ideal screw easy and now I can also get to the fuel/mix screw which is was a big issue not being able to get to it without taking off the carb. I changed my pod filter to a smaller one so it doesn't stick out too far.

Then i had room to mount the oil cooler in front. I screwed the oil cooler mounting brackets to the screw holes from the airbox that I removed. then zip tied the oiler to the brackets, its solid and doesn't move.
Worked out perfect for me.

Oh yeah man that looks good and answered all my questions! That oil cooler is about perfectly placed, hi enough to avoid road hazards but lo enough to still catch some breeze , I'll try and put mine in that same spot most likely. I like that side facing carb/air filter too ,my other bike is a Sportster and thats how the air cleaner sits on it, out on one side so I'm used to that .

ya i'll really happy with this set up now. I don't mind the filter sticking out, it doesn't get in the way of anything and sort of looks cool to me. I had the big foam Uni filter but that would look funny, to big sticking out. So i went with a smaller one. You could also get a 45degree angled type or a flatter one.

Chinabike 07-17-2018 04:08 PM

And carb spinner is a great little invention.

I got the bar's in yesterday. going to install those soon.
