qlink vs. .zong

pros and cons regarding engine performance. anyone who has ridden both please respond.I already own a zong sierra with the spud wheel kit ,so I have both super moto and dual sport rims. But are the two engine and suspension that similar that would negate buying the xf200? A local dealer has 2 at a smoking deal.if the engine output is a little better and the suspension also better i might bite and sell the zong?

They are more alike than different IF you have Spudwheels on the Zong. As delivered the Q is a better off road bike but your bike has been modified appropiatly. I have has both and can say engine performance is about the same.

I'd be inclined to stick with the Zong because only ONE Chinabike in our collective experience has ever acheived truely astounding high mileage and that would be Spud's Zong at over 40,000.

I would go for the XF simply because I am biased towards Suzukis (nothing from experience other than having once owned a '91 DR250s)...

i have heard that the parts are easier to get from qlink.

that may be something to consider. i would think the quality is similar.

I'm REALLY GLAD you mentioned this!
I did something a couple weeks ago I NEVER thought I'd be able to do!
I wanted a spare rear fender cover for my Q. I drill holes int he original to mount the bag...but wanted a plain one to toss on when the bag wore out.
I went online to their website, found it easily, put part in cart. Filled out purchase info and clicked.
3 days later the part should up on my doorstep just like a real company! It was professionally packed and even the correct color! I never thought I'd ever be able to do that with a CB! 8)

Very good point on the Q. Getting parts from The Collective is possible but stressful and time consuming.

This is true. However, the Zong parts are far less expensive than QLink parts. In this respect, the Zong fits in with the "spirit" of owning a Chinese motorcycle.

Of course, the parts issue only relates to parts other than the engine, such as plastic, et cetera. The Zong engine is a faithful copy of a Yamaha engine, and Yamaha parts are readily available for it. When I rebulit the top end of my Zong engine at 32,000 miles, I installed a Yamaha, XT200 cylinder head.

But of course, the XF/XP engine is essentially a Suzuki DR200 engine--continuing something to think about :?

$1,600 is still a good deal but $1,200 would have been, as you said, a smoking deal and tough to pass up. 8)

Keep the Zong, Fish. My Zong gets 85 mpg, and $1,595 will buy a lot of fuel, and happiness, even when the price of gasoline reaches $4/gallon.

Fish, If you want to go on the interstate you have to go used Japanese.

Look at this deal on a 450 Honda for $1,200! The deals are out there! :P
