Mud Rat.

Temps in the low 60's today so after church The Dirt Rat and I went up the hills to have some fun . All the snow, except for a little at the higher elevations, is gone, but the trails were muddy in places. The Dirt Rat was in it's element 8) .

Even with the power washer it took a little time to get it clean!

Still, a winter's day well spent.

To me that's the perfect size serious off road trail bike. Big enough to scramble up steeps hills, yet small enough to manhandle if it gets stuck or to get it up over big rocks or logs.

Thanks for posting the photos, Doc. However, I am sorry to inform you, winter doesn't begin for another week! 8O Nevertheless, I am very glad the temperatures have returned to seasonal norms.

I agree. The Dirt Rat has made me a better off road rider, and gives me lots of fun. I can chug up pretty much anything with it, as long as we go at The Rat's pace.

Thanks for the depressing fact, Brother Spud! AT least it's December. In 2 weeks the days will start getting longer and we can look forward to getting out of this mess!

I'm sorry, Brother Bill; I wasn't trying to depress you! I am very pleased we have seen a return to more seasonal temperatures! For a good while I was convinced we were in store for an absolutely brutal winter! :( We just need to get through January and Februrary, Doc. March might "come in like a lion," but it always "goes out like a lamb!

Doc, maybe this is the bike to take riding with your friends next time. You took the mighty Q last time, and you felt that a dirt-specific bike would have been a better choice.

You bet, W&G. Much of the time I was building this bike that's what I was thinking too. I'd have to bootleg it a bit as about 5 miles or so is on a public road, but other people in our small group also have dirt only bikes and no one seems to mind.
