Newbie in Michigan

Hello from Michigan! I'm new to Chinese Motorcycles so I hope to gain some knowledge from those more experienced with the animals. Can anyone tell me what a Wildfire WFG-200LDB is? I will be picking one up in a few days and will experience the joy of assembling and hoping it will start without too much effort on my part. I thought it would look good in my carport next to my BMW R 1150 RT. 8O

Welcome aboard! The assembly is the fun part! Plus they're usually easy to get running, sometimes it's the fine tuning that takes a bit of time

. With the collective experience of the forum members I'm sure someone will be able to help you out if you have any questions. I'm sure your BMW will love having a new stablemate... Now you'll just have to keep an eye out for a bumper sticker that says "My other bike is a beemer!"

You live in a beautiful part of our continent. I would like to get my hands on another bottle of that Alberta Springs Rye. I got hooked on that stuff while living in Ontario a few year back.

I plan to do a pictorial of the bike assembly. The thing is canary yellow, I'm sure I won't be able to hide from the animals out in the woods. I have owned about every make of Brittish and Japanese bikes through the years with a few Italian and German models thrown in the mix. I used to pick up basket cases and make them go. I would ride them for a bit then sell them and move onto something else. The proble with the last 3 BWM's I have owned was I couldn't seem to wear them out. Makes for boring years of riding the same machine.

Ever been to the Sturgis, SD bike week?

It appears the Wildfire WFG-200DB is a generic Honda clone (Hondoid).

You came to the right place; I'm sure the knowledgeable, helpful members of these forums will be glad to help you.

After your bike arrives, please do start a new thread in our Dual Sport Forum, and post some photographs of your new Wildfire; we love photos!

Many thanks to SpudRider and Weldangrind for noticing my post and your words of encouragement. Also to the other replys. You are spoiling me. Sometimes it takes months to be noticed. Here I have only been registered for a few hours and have had all kinds of responces.

I'm getting my van ready for the trip to pick this strange (to me) piece of machinery. I'm more used to the complexity of my Beemer. It will be nice getting back to old school carbs and a real chain drive! Actually Spud, I might be wrong, but I kinda thought the engine was a Suzuki clone. Not real sure about it though. I was thinking from the picture Honda, then changed my mind. I am hoping the Vin Number will help clue me to the origin of the bike and the design. :oops:

Welcome. You have a GY2 standard variant china bike. Honda based engine and drive system.

Real similar to my old lifan.

I think you will be performing upgrades soon after assembly.
