Weekend with FastDoc :)

Ok so I just moved to oregon and through good old CR met some people in my area... one of whom was fastdoc. He offered to show me the area and since I had the whole weekend to myself (ex had the kiddos) I figured... why not? lol heres a bit of what we did...
First one is me in the mighty maule while doc was filling her up... basically I was thinking... oh *%@^ this is a small plane lol

ok next doc and i together while I feign fearlessness and he looks waaaay too happy

the next few are just some in flight stuff

below is the pic I snapped after being asked the question... do you wanna feel some g's? how could I say no???

ok next morning (doc was a gentleman and let me have the master suite while he slept in the guest room) we went for an atv ride... which was a first for me and I loved it....

then later to his friends house to shoot guns (what else?) below is my "why the hell are you taking my pic when I have this ridiculous getup on?" face lol

and then me shooting the crap out of a few targets lol

We did a little hot tubbin, a little cruisin on a harley... all in all a great weekend. I had a blast... thanks to the doc... and of course china riders who introduced us

Cool pics! Thank you for sharing . The pics from the plane, I recognize a wind farm in the one, but what are all those circular things in those two pictures? Are they agricultural? Looks like you guys had a great time .

Cheers,
Stew

Martin is quite a guy. 8) I of course have the theroetical advantage of being human. Plus I work. Martin The Cat is a sluggard. :?

The crops are what's called center pivot irrigation. It's very popular in this area of the country. They drill a well and a large wheeled rotating arm turns and water hundreds of acres at a time. It works well in desert areas with a close aquifer. The circles you saw were fairly close to the Columbia River.

Most of the circle crops here will be wheat, onions, potatos (I don't have the heart to tell Spud Washington grows more potatos than Idaho ), and other grains. Not much corn. I think that requires more water.

During the high G picture Melissa took we were at a 60 gegree angle pulling about 2.5-3 G's. Yank and bank, baby!

Melissa is a great shot. Remind me to not anger her any time in the future. She'd snipe my ass with that Ruger. If she was armed with a shotgun though I'd be safe. She needs a little more practice at skeet shooting. How's the shoulder, honey?

CR is a GREAT place to meet GREAT people. Melissa just happens to be a lot cuter than all of you! 8)

I was also pretty decent with the hand gun (almost better than you and I had never even shot one before)... and you r much larger and slower than those little tiny disks lol im willing to bet I could hit you with a shot gun lol but my shoulder is bruised for sure

Washington might grow more potatoes, but Idaho grows the best potatoes! Always remember, the important thing is quality, not quantity.

Thanks for posting the great photos, Mel.

Where is Bud the Spud from? Newfoundland? Sorry got sidetracked with all the potato talk...

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and Doc thanks for educating us about the circle crops, I was wondering about those myself... Everything I see up here is usually rectangular or square, or some other form of polygon...

It sounds like you guys had a great weekend. I'm totally envious of your time in the Maule.

I saw those circle crops and thought crop circles; sort of an X-Files moment.
