Help,New bike runs like *@$%!!!

Evening all,
Just recently bought myself a DB-A05 (XMOTOS SR200-3), and everything thing has gone REALLY smooth, just got it registered today in fact.
Problem is, the bike starts and idles nicely, but under load, it skips and misses. I've gone through it pretty well, even adjusted the valves as they were pretty tight. I've had the carb off and cleaned it out, no blockages. I'm fairly certain I don't have a fuel delivery problem.
Question is, missing under load, could it be a bad CDI or coil?

Any input is greatly appreciated, I'm out of ideas.

Chris

the CDI is the most common failure on these units that would cause those symptoms. That said I don't really know what you have. Is it a 200cc Lifan style bike?

Thanks Doc, it is a 200cc Lifan style unit. Sorry, guess I should have included that in my post.
I've been looking around at CDI's, and the one from my bike seems to be the same unit they sell for small scooters and dirt bikes, 125cc and under. It's got six pins with the square style plug, and is only 2 1/4 inches long.

AFAIK if the connector matches up you're good to go. I replaced the CDI on each of the two Lifanoids I assembled. One failed at about 100 miles (similar symproms to yours) the other went about 2,000 miles. I was WAY OUT in the dirt when that happened and made it home with much prayer. I would'nt even have known how to tell my buddy to get me I was so out there.

This one looks right, but it says its for smaller bikes.

Someone will know...

I think your on the right track. Another member posting similar symptoms and the new cdi cleared it right up.

Please post us some pics in the meantime.

I'll do that, going to be a day or two though. She's all naked and stuff right now. I stripped all the body panels off, removed the stickers (what a pain!!) and painted it (what else??) black.
Wouldn't you know it, the fancy race CDI from my scooter doesn't fit either, DANG IT!!

I'm inclined to lean towards the CDI as well, but I have to ask: have you changed the plug? The stock plugs are junk, and there are even some clever fake NGK plugs out there.

I was actually thinking the same thing lol... not that I know much but I think this might be a similar bike to what I owned (it might be the identical bike infact). My plug was junk and the bike ran like crap until I changed it with a properly spaced plug. Even if you remove the plug and clean the contact (or whatever its called)... that helped mine the first time I did it... until I decided to just swap it out for a better one.

Welcome to these forums! I agree with all the previous advice. I think you were wise to order some new CDI units; I would also install a new, NGK spark plug. When you have the time, please post some photos of your bike; we love photographs!

Thanks for the advice, I have put a new plug in, I replaced that first thing. I lurked here for awhile doing research, awfully thankful for this forum. I've also replaced the inner tubes, fuel line, and the inline fuse with an automotive blade style holder. I'll post some pictures when I get it back together. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks for upgrading your lurker status to member. Good luck with the CDI, and please let us know how it turns out.

You're welcome, Chris. We are glad you became a member. We look forward to your contributions to these forums, especially the photographs!

Incidentally, I have relatives living in Rochester, NY. The Finger Lakes Region of New York is very pretty.

I can't find any photos of your bike on the internet, Chris. Is your bike a dual sport motorcycle?
