fuse

ok i have a question so u know my quad cut 3 of my fingers so im trying to fix the quad and the key ignition had got cut so i stripped it and sotered it but now i went to start it and it wont start or make the noise when u hit the electric starter its been sitting for a month and i charged the battery but when i put the chargers on and plug it in the fuse glows orange so idk why its doing that can someone help me is it the key ignition or what why does the fuse glow orange like its on fire or something

You're charging the battery with it still on the bike?. Are the charger leads the right way round?: + to + and - to -.

Note charger leads: red wire= + (positive), black lead =- (negative)

yes i put it on the right way red 2 red black 2 black my dad did it acually

i noticed when i turn my quad on with the seat on the battery makes a sizziling sound really low but i can hear it and thats the only time the fuse goes orange and melts also when i move the negative battery wires it goes orange and melts and i have a quaestion do you need the spark plug ignitor to to make the elecrtric start work

Sounds as if the seat base pan is shorting either the battery terminals or crushing a wire against the chassis.

With the igniter removed the electric starter will still turn but of course the engine won't start.

ok look 1st thing i had 2 soter all my wire back on my key ignition because i took it off AND BY ACCIDENT ALL THE WIRES RIPPED SO ME AND MY DAD SOTER THEM AND WRAPPED THEM IN ELECTRICAL TAPE AND THEN I TRIED TO START the quad and the fuse still goes orange and then when i go 2 check on the key ignition its very hoy why i need major help please and the eletric start wont even make the noise no more why is this :x 8O

You have a major short circuit somewhere.




I think that's the bike's problem, too!

Either something is SOLDERED to a wrong terminal...or something's hooked up backwards...or a wire is shorting through a cut in the insulation or something. Find the problem before doing anything else, or you're gonna fry the whole bike and maybe even start a fire!
