The dinstinct need for speed

Well I'm on a LF125GY-3 (as far as I'm aware)

Also known as a Hero Magellan here in the UK, Pic:

I've moved the battery to the air box location, put a performance air filter (off of my mini moto ha ha) onto it, re painted it, (will post some pics soon) and fitted a dominator front end (twin halogen headlamps etc) also had to fit a new rear numberplate bracket as it just couldn't take the abuse I was giving it. Removed the baggage rack and fitted new indicators all round, (something a little more stylish) also removed the exhaust. Yep thats right, straight out from the front pipe, silencer is still attached to the bike, but not inserted into the front pipe, makes a lot of noise but hasn't really sped the bike up.

But now.. the time has come for more speed, she tops out at 70MPH on a flat road. I was thinking CDI box but mines all ready de-restricted as it revs all the way up to 12RPM, I was thinking about fitting one of the Lifan 200CC engines, or one of the 250CC engines as they seem to maintain the same fitments just slightly taller, (thats a guess based on pictures)

Thinking maybe a bigger carb, any ideas?

Since your desiring more speed I would have to suggest a bigger bike.
Even if you put a 200cc engine in the bike you will probably top it out at
about 70-75mph. Seems like a lot of work to gain nothing. I would enjoy
what you have and save some cash for a bigger ride. It is that time of
the year that people are selling cheap. I wish I had a $1,000.00 I would
have two new to me bikes in the garage. The best of luck to you...

I'm going to venture that you have a restricted license so that is why you want to retain the bike and put a bigger engine in.

Most of us with 200cc bike are lucky to see much over 70mph too. Not worth the effort to upgrade.

I'll bet you a fortune cookie that 70+ MPH will give you a real hair raising experience on that bike 8O

It might be easier to stand on a beach ball! LOL

12K RPMs is approaching turbine revs    I would line the seat pan with Kevlar to protect my family tree branch

Humble opinion,
Tigertamer

Yeah restricted licence, put it this way, at 70mph on that if I don't put all my weight on the front forks they feel like they're going to lift, I've decided to buy a Honda CB400F instead, and build a cafe'racer. mwaha ha haha

Start

Finish

I've got a 72 honda 350 twin. On other sites I've seen these bikes get bashed like chinabikes. Don't believe it. Most UK guys know what these bikes will do.mwaha ha haha

I have a lot of cb350 twin info, they aren't the same bike at all, but most of where to purchase what part is still the same. PM me if you get one.
