New tires for my GY-5

Finally have the pics of the new tires on my GY-5, Avon Roadrider 90/90/21 front 120/80/18 rear.

Wow those look good!! Amazingly similar to the Barracudas that I have on mine. I do have a 120/90-18 on the rear however.

Here in the UK I can only find V rated Roadriders (AM26), at a V rated price of approx $250 for a pair. A little posh for a Chinese trail bike? Using Conti Escapes myself at $140 a pair.

Those tires are awesome!

I'd be really interested to know how they have affected the ride and the handling compared to the stock knobby tires.

Im with everyone, those tires make the bike look so good. The look great. Im defently getting some of those this weekend!

They make it ride a world better, It's cloudy and trying to rain off and on today (of course). But was able to ride for aprox. 30 min. It felt like a different bike. I really wish I could have went wider on the front, but wasn't possible with the rim. And these are the V-rated tires by the way, $227 after tax for the pair, they put em on for free though.

They look really nice, I'm planning on getting some street tires, but I'm a little cheap I guess, I'm looking at the cst barracudas... Fatboy, could you maybe make a thread with some pictures of your tires?

Edit, Never mind, I found the pictures in your gallery.... What is your opinion on the barracudas, how did they affect your ride, how do you like them.

The more I look at the Avon tires on your bike the more I'm leaning towards them...

I got them from my local motorcycle shop that is a Qlink dealer, they ordered them from Tucker/Rocky. You are better off ordering them from these people http://www.americanmototire.com/cata...cPath=33_61_75 I paid more, but they put them on for free.

Ahh sounds good, yeah I just ordered a pair from them, actually just before I got the link from you... I hope they come though, because I ordered a set of barracudas from them, which were listed in stock on their site only to get my money refunded since they were out of stock... Oh well, I think these ones should work good...

I checked at a local shop, I would have paid the same price for the front tire alone as I just did for both tires...

Yea, the shop qouted me that tucker/rocky catalog price, $105 for the front and $121 for the back, but then said they would do it for $227 after tax and put them on. I still probably should have just ordered them and put them on myself, since the rear axle nut was locked up and I ended up cutting it off with a die grinder in thier shop because I didn't trust them to do it.

I think I was looking at over $140 per tire locally... I don't know if they would have mounted them though...

Just curious, but the tread on the front tire is running opposite the back tire.

Is the front tire on backwards?
