Stator on chinabike

has anyone had any experience in changing out the stator. I have the 250cc Tank Vision R3 and keep burning out the CDI unit. And have been told its because the stator is going bad.
Thinking about changing it myself if its not to much work..

easy ... does it.. there panama

no really its easy once u've messed up on acouple of them lol

is yours oil cooled ? if not just remove the side casing and go from there,
mine are oil cooled so i have to drain the oil first to do that...
it will be tightend down to the side casing by a center nut or a very large bolt

if you have the new one already it wont take long to change it out
good luck

Kinda along this topic... Does anybody make a high output stator for a 2006 Roketa DB07 200cc OHC engine.

I am running without the battery right now, and the lights dim when I put on the brake or turn signals.

Thanks..

Ken

thats probly a good way to burn up a stator real quick,
no different than a care alternator, you can run a car with no battery once u jump it and then it will run without a batt. , but will burn up the alt. , because it thinks it is needing to charge all the time and nothing to charge

so i cant imagine it would be different for a bike

You need a to pull the stator cover off and the remove the few screws that hold it to the cover. Put in new stator and replace cover.

It may take you an hour.

There are articles and winding your own high output stator out there too.

I have seen ones listed for XRs and ATCs that may interchange.

Once you're done, Randy...dump the bike! It's seem to be a big headache. Like I mentioned before in another thread, I got most of the kinks worked out. I'm still planning on getting another bike, though.

Nuff said!

To me it sounds like a regulator issue.

Yes, I had already replaced the regulator/rectifier when it happened the first time, didnt seem to make a difference.
